((Um... why did my action go completely and totally random all of a sudden - on a 6, I would understand, but a 5? What's up with that, GM?))
Too many 1s and 2s after it. To be fair, you are fighting a boss singlehandedly, and you're certainly not dead yet. But, bosses take more effort to defeat. A single 5 can't do it. You have to confirm the 5.

((It's not that I'm complaining that that didn't work, it's that there are several bits after it where my actions are not at all what I had specified (pose, punches, piledrivers and so forth) when I don't see any reason why that had to be. The loss of control is what I'm griping about, really, as I don't like it when GMs force what should be a voluntary course of action upon a character.))

Watch the match and be ready to bury the loser.

Ah, I see the issue now. I had assumed that you wouldn't mind the amount of showmanship displayed, but I see I misjudged. There are certain actions that are just going to happen regardless, but I can certainly make you auto-fail all of these if you wish (The pose, for instance, was a part of this particular combat, but if your character feels like simply standing there, I can't argue with that). It's not my character, so if you feel that I misrepresented him, then I can certainly change it. Wrestling moves, to me, are simply wrestling moves, so he can reattempt (but still fail) the suplex if you feel he should.

I had assumed as long as the goal was the same, it's method to get there was acceptable, so long as it followed a path similar. I thought reattempting to do something over again would seem boring, and that it might make more sense for him to attempt something similar but different, as I suppose many people would do.

I apologize for this. How would your character have reacted instead? I could perhaps change how this read.

((Nah, keep the turn as it is - as it was rolled, so it must be. However, in the future, when given one action, you execute it once, no reattempts, and then allow the player to give more input instead of coming up with something yourself. When things just proceed on their own without player input, the player - I in this case - feels kind of marginalized in the entire process.

And my idea of playing a wrestler in this case was to play somebody who fights by grappling, not a literal professional wrestler, but that's a different issue.))

Perhaps you misunderstood "reattempt." See, your character was allowed to try to flip him twice, since you got a 5 and this was a boss. Everything else in the process, however, was superfluous and that I can understand. I will attempt to stymy such actions in the future.

"ERROR, structural integrity at bare minimum to sustain life. Maintenance personnel is required. Now running survival protocols."

While gunbeard is busy with Lurf; attempt to return back to the merchant ship. Once there, actually get somewhere safe for once, and look for something to repair myself with.

((If this were a literal rp, I'd be annoyed with my character being played for me as well.  But I find it acceptable here because we're playing a game controlled by a GM.  Extra actions added to what my character did surprised me at first, but I find this unexpectedness makes it more fun.  Please keep doing that for Wisteria, webadict.))

"Such a nice gentleman! Wisteria gurgled appreciatively as she bobbed peacefully among the waves now that the whirlpool had subsided.  She had always known it was good to be prepared for anything, so swimming lessons had been an obligatory class once she learned she'd be traveling by boat.  Sadly the water was quite cold and dull compared to the blistering hot excitement going on on deck.  Thus Wisteria set out to remedy this situation immediately.

"Ah~!  So cold and watery!  But this is the ocean after all... I wonder if I'll see some sharks?  Or a whale!  I would like to see a whale very much!  I wonder what's going on back on the boat!  I want to see!  This is the best cruise ever and I'm so glad father was able to pay for it!" Wisteria declares through sea salt.  She does her best to find a way back onto the boat as quickly as possible!

Can do.

Anyhow, I was planning on updating soon, but I'm afraid I have an issue with updating on weekends (Fun time!) and I'll be gone for 48 hours starting about now. So, when I return, I plan to update. Until then, see ya later!

Turn 5

Dive overboard. Clearly, this asshole who just dropped in is at fault. At least underwater I'll be slightly safer.
[5] - Lurf dives for the edge of the ship.

“He’s making a break for it, folks!”

Captain Gunbeard fires a few shots, but misses, instead hitting an unfortunate fan. “Looks like someone’s going home with a souvenir!” (The woman didn’t survive.)

As he splashes into the water, his Shark Hands keep him afloat. Lurf notices Wisteria bobbing up from the water beside him. She grabs onto his Shark Hands to keep afloat.

Turn the cannon and fire it at Gunbeard!
[2] - You turn the cannon and fire… [Luck: 5] nothing because some careless merchant has stolen the cannonballs to summon the forth the Eternal Cannon. At least you weren’t horribly burned in a fire, am I right?

"ERROR, structural integrity at bare minimum to sustain life. Maintenance personnel is required. Now running survival protocols."

While gunbeard is busy with Lurf; attempt to return back to the merchant ship. Once there, actually get somewhere safe for once, and look for something to repair myself with.
[6] - Well done, Mr. Tiny! You’ve successfully managed to leave the ship! Hooray!

But, now, the real horrors start for him.

You see, Tiny isn’t just any sort of robotic man. He’s a robotic man with a plan. And that plan is to fan that tin can of this tan, bran, LAN man. [Luck: 3] This, of course, does nothing, but he picks up a distinct taste for terrible rhymes.

Status Gained - Circuit Nit Wit: -1 to non-rhyming actions next Round.

Watch the match and be ready to bury the loser.
[1] - Well, it’s hard to bury a loser if that loser jumps overboard. Luckily for you, Sir Nautingham is the next best thing to the loser in that match! I mean, he was shot, after all, right?

[Luck: 2] As luck would have it, Sir Nautingham isn’t too impressed by that. “Oy, what’re ya doin’, lad?” [Dodge: 2] You take a fist right to the face. Ow. Rude.

Wisteria declares through sea salt.  She does her best to find a way back onto the boat as quickly as possible!
[2] - Wisteria takes this time to practice her climbing skills. She gets a good hold on to the ship, when suddenly, a rather big wrestler’s foot smacks her right on the noggin.

[Luck: 5] She isn’t hurt, but she falls off the ship, splashing into the water. She barely gets some words out about how exciting that was. She emerges to the surface where she notices Lurf floating with his Shark Hands.

“Ooo,” she gurgles into the water, before swimming and grabbing onto them for balance. “Slippery!”

Captain Gunbeard [3] - Captain Gunbeard takes a shot at Sir Nautingham! [Aim: 1] “That shot wasn’t even CLOSE!” The crowd laughs at him, only making the pirate captain angrier.

Captain Gunbeard points a finger at the Announcer Man. “You’re next.”

"I am deeply sorry for that sir, but punching me was a bit too extr-" Hank is about to scold Sir Nautingham, but then notices the pirate captain shooting innocent bystanders. This enrages Hank and brings forth a memory from his past. That captain is an evil man and he must be stopped.

Search for a gun.

Lurf was distinctly unsatisfied by this latest turn of events. He was shot multiple times in the course of honorable combat, and now there was some sort of freeloader grabbing onto his shark hands.

Try to somehow heal my wounds, or at least not bleed so much.

Moments later, Lurf is struck by an idea!

"Drowning woman! Earn your keep and help me with my multiple gunshot wounds!"

Beseech Wisteria's help.
