Honestly? I think someone heard our merry band of bloodthirsty pirates pile into the building (these are some big buildings to have fights with 2000+ people involved) and dropped their currency card to distract us while they ran for it. It seems to work, at least.

That, or some fools in their panic dropped their wallet as they were hitting the high road knowing that Yuri the Reaver was coming. Good luck getting a fare offworld without your money.

Posting to thank you for continuing this, I stopped paying attention for a while after the last hiatus, but have just caught up.

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

No problem, and I'm glad you're enjoying it! I just had to take a little while to get my head wrapped around writing and posting a LP again - but it's always a bit harder to pick up something after you've put it down for a while.

Heh. There was one update where it seemed to me that the currency cards were dropped as a deliberate trail that would lead straight into a trap at first, but that didn't seem to happen.

How do people in this universe keep losing their currency cards? Seems a normal person could make a decent living just from picking up the money on the streets.  :P

I played one of the Deus Ex games and basically you do exactly that. You earn far more money finding loose change then you do at your actual job that to my knowledge never pays you during the game's runtime.

You can also make a fortune in Chrono Trigger early on by Shelter-Farming in 600AD and selling the excess at a market, and make more money early-game that way than from XP farming the local wildlife and collecting from that. Excellent for low-level challenges.

EDIT:
Nevermind, I did a rapid-play to test my theory out. It's far too impractical; unless you're doing a low-level run, and need good equipment to stay alive down the line. CAUTION: Tedious as hell.

A standard Guardia Forest 600AD battle yielded 80GP per-fight on average (and quicker GP gain), a shelter (for free if you know where to look) sells for 75GP, minus XP.

I have been enjoying reading through your playthrough. I remember when I played through it I ended up forgetting what I was doing after so many fights.

Thanks etgfrog, I'm glad you're enjoying it. When playing games with a lot of fighting between the plot points, I tend to keep a hint guide open - not specifically because I want to spoil everything for myself, but because it's handy to have on hand to remember where I was going once the slaughter of the enemy is complete.

Also, the next update will be delayed - a combination of the holidays, some personal issues and being sick for the last week has conspired against me.

Assault on Orders Part 3
New Characters: Garners
New Ships: ZR2 (M), Taurus (M), Independence (CG)
New Fighters:

That wraps up another chapter of Infinite Space. Overall, I think that if things had turned out a little differently, Yuri would have gotten along well with Evans. He wasn’t a bad guy, per se – in fact, he had the same goals as Yuri. The problem was that they ended up on opposite sides of the war, and Libertas’ insistence on burying its head in the sand (and imprisoning Yuri for ten years) didn’t endear them to him.
