Pretty much what the title says. Got Zaeed loyal, along with everyone but Legion loyal. I want to know what people I need to put where to get everyone alive at the end. My expansions are firewalker pack, and the one with Zaeed. I also have the motive of wanting to see the faces on the council in ME3 when I ally quarians and geth.

Also take Mordin on the final fight.  He never did like that "Hold the Line" speech, after all.

It's not necessary to make them loyal, but I think you need Legion's loyalty mission done to have a shot at bringing peace to their races. Just use the chart, and make sure you leave Legion to hold the line.

I got the achievement on my Renegade playthrough (as Paragon, I lost Thane) without Tali's loyalty. I think it's easier to pull off than it is to get yourself killed. Though I did that, too, by doing the IFF mission as soon as I could. It was actually a pretty good scene.

Might try it again the third time and see if I can bring even less teammates by leaving Grunt in his tank. Or just kill them faster by not getting the upgrades (I just loaded up a save to do this run). I want to see if I can go to the final battle without any teammates.

You'll definitely want to get Legion to be loyal, though, if you want to accomplish what you're looking for:

Yeah, just go get everyone loyal unless you really hate someone. The squadmate choices for SM are as follows (assumes everyone is loyal). To do this, finish everything possible before you do the dead reaper mission, then do legion's loyalty mission immediately after installing the IFF, if you do it right you will have ONE mission between IFF and omega relay, and can still save everyone:

As has been said, you need Tali's AND Legion's loyalty in 2 to broker peace in 3.

When min maxing ME2, it's frustrating that you can't see all of Legions dialogue.

you need all the ship upgrades, the suicide mission uses a points system that measures how many loyal, normal, and unloyal crewmembers on board and give a base outcome of who lives and dies for each task. Even then, when assigning people for the tasks you need to make sure to assign the loyal ones to the job and use the powerful ones for the job, Kasumi, Tali, and Legion for the door hack, Samara or jack for the forcefield and either Miranda, Jacob, Garrus, or i think Grunt can handle second team, and for the away team send out Mordin hes literally useless at this point of the game.

Grunt isn't a viable fire team leader. Probably because it's hard to lead when you've charged off ahead of everyone else and gotten shot. My personal favorite is Zaeed the life-long merc whose shot/killed more people than the black plague and blah blah who is NOT a good fire-team leader, for some reason.

Remind me again how many of his stories end with "And I was the only one who made it out alive?" He might not be the best choice for leading a whole bunch of folks around.

Sure, but Garrus has a 100% total party kill rate when he's in charge and he's a valid choice; Jacob's never been in charge of ANYthing and he's a valid choice. I thought the point of Zaeed's mission was to make him acknowledge that he was part of the team, and hence NOT do crazy solo stuff anymore. *shrug* Of all the issues in ME, that one's pretty minor.

Doesn't add up. Zaeed will only be Loyal to you if you let him be a huge douche during his mission and act like a mainiac.

I thought it was strange that Zaeed wasn't a good choice at first, too, but then I realized that when he tried to run a fireteam they shot him in the face and became one of the three most vile pirate groups in the galaxy. His resume's not very good.

Garrus on the other hand only lost his party when he wasn't there. It only makes sense that if you don't send him, your squaddies will die.

Not sure what the deal with Miranda or Jacob is though, since certain characters hate Miranda, and Jacob has no qualifications. He had his own game once, though, so there's that.

Grunt is a bad fireteam leader because he's less than a month old. And he's a Krogan. His dying is a bit weird on the second fireteam (shouldn't he shrug that shit off?), but the death from the first fireteam seems legit.

Both Zaeed and Grunt have good "Hold the Line" scores, though. Like, if you left them there all alone, they would survive no problem. Just by having them in the party, you prevent a total party wipe (in fact, I don't think it's possible for Grunt to die if you leave him behind). That means you can also set it up so that Grunt is the only survivor left, and he turns out to be too wimpy to pull you into the Normandy. Classy.

Also possible to leave Zaeed as the last guy, so he can go "Yeah, we all went into the Collector Base. Shot a whole bunch of aliens down there. And I was the only one who made it out alive. Team leader tried to get on the ship and I just pretended I was pinned by assault fire and couldn't help him, the sucker."
