Lucky bastards. I had people adress me as 'ma'am' a couple of times. Including one face to face by an older woman, apparently based on the rock-solid evidence of me having neck-long hair and wearing a wool overcoat (it was winter). I couldn't resist the urge, so asked politely 'Yes?' in my growliest voice. Oh the hilarity.
