So you've actually been here a year longer than me. I joined in 2007, at 22, am now 28.

A strange thought... I can't remember how I found this game / these forums. Was it a recommendation from a friend? Was there a review on a gaming web site? How on earth did I get here? And holy shit, how much the game has changed since then... nOsTaLgIa...

I wonder if the average forumgoer age is higher on the game-specific boards. As has been mentioned, games like Drunk Fortress couldn't be successful with so few of legal drinking age (though obviously outside of the USA the drinking age is much more reasonable).

I saw a friend playing DF, asked him what it was. A few weeks later I was in the help section.

I joined in 2011, but I definitely played the game before I went on the forum.  Looking through the devlogs it looks like I started sometime in the second half of 2010.  So that's around 3 years as a DF player.  Well, OK, I haven't actually played DF for long stretches of that, but you get the idea.

Oh, and I'm 20.  I thought of myself as one of the forum's younger members but apparently I was wrong.  I found the game because of TVtropes.
