Ah, one of those fancy ones.

Ignoring the giggling, he sends one stream of magic to a point high up in the gate, attempting to break it horizontally along those lines, and another about halfway down from where he makes the initial fracture.

It's one of those fancy ones that draw upward and I really fucked up the gears in there. No way you'd get it working in a reasonable timeframe.
