((Okay, The Headmistress may know. I'm not sure if Mort will be informative, but he might, he has indicated the capability to know the circumstances of death. Even if for some reason he cannot, he will definitely know the cause of death: rotting/entropy. Which leaves only two suspects and only one of them had a motive.))

((I think I accidentally pressed 'tab' wile typing and posted it.))

((Exactly, that brings in another issue, Lyle stated that they were missing rather than dead... however, if the witnesses are cross-checked it is almost impossible that they would have the same explanation and seeing as Evangeline and I think THE as well are capable of bracelet signal interception, any attempts to coordinate a lie would be even more catastrophic. Hence the issue becomes of what happened and who was responsible.

A lack of a cohesive explanation would indicate the need to hide something, presumably death, however, that still leaves the killer unknown, if Death actually does assist and for some reason can't determine the circumstances of death, that leaves it into an investigation of Jason and Darnos. The motive of the former being revenge, the motive of the latter being Darnos.

However, if a full mission report is also obtained, then Darnos would be acquitted as it would become apparent that the magic of the investigators were disabled thus leaving only one person with the capacity to kill in that manner. That would, of course, be Jason. And alternate process may occur by having Darnos explain his backups by having it examined to show that it was indeed triggered by murder. Of course, THE would know that the simulacrum was incapable of murder and that it was overridden by a backup triggered by murder thus indicating that Darnos was an effect, not a cause.

Should the inquiries and investigation take this path, then it would be a matter of arranging for the punishments. Jason committed homicide. Granted, he had sympathetic justifications, but at the end of the day, he murdered three other students in cold blood.

Whilst it may be argued that it was the only way out and staff could not be contacted, that is not strictly true. No one tried using any enchantments, so no one would have known that. Furthermore, the enchantments would have worked once and only once. However, about half the party had a bracelet, that is more than enough to send a distress call to one of the members of staff who have one such as Nikki or Ricardo, or at least some other student who could inform a teacher. Furthermore, they had no evidence that it indeed was the only way out.

Next comes the issue of the other people involved, while they could have not prevented the murders, they did lie about them. The mitigating factor here is that they were under duress, however, the issue remains that they still could have informed staff via bracelet, after all, Jason would have no way of knowing if a message was sent, assuming that he even knew what the bracelets do.))

"W-w-we could... Er... G-g-give Cyrielle a... A t-tour..." Selina is still blushing, but smiles a little. (1250)

One of the girls approaches with a smile.

"Hehe! Didn't expect marriage and a baby, but i'm happy for you two. Whos child? And... Girl to girl here, you've gained a little weight succubus." The girl smiles sympathetically.

((And I can't post until tomorrow morning at best. Have a good evening Emp, and a good morning Elf when you get on. Ciao!))

"Ours, I'm not really sure what happened but we both ended up pregnant. My physiology accelerated that so that it was over in a week, Selina's slight weight gain is from her ongoing pregnancy."

((Now, time to analyze what I said.))

A lack of a cohesive explanation would indicate the need to hide something, presumably death
((This would, of course, require the investigators to consider the worst possible option. If instead they are thought to be missing a recovery mission would be launched. However, the trial would still go on as they would have left three people to die.))

if Death actually does assist and for some reason
((This is the weakest link in this chain of reasoning. It requires Death to actually care. However, he does indeed seem to be on good terms with The Headmistress so even if the latter isn't directly involved, it would likely be considered a favor to her and thus a service he would provide.))

However, if a full mission report is also obtained
((The mission details may be falsified by the students but as before, it is even less likely for them to come up with the same explanation independent of each other.))

And alternate process may occur by having Darnos explain his backups by having it examined to show that it was indeed triggered by murder.
((If he does explain that is.))

Whilst it may be argued that it was the only way out and staff could not be contacted, that is not strictly true.
((Of course, the staff would not know about the single use limitation either. However, the students did not test it. By simply walking into the labyrinth with a bracelet and sending a single message would prove that they could have been used once.))

Jason would have no way of knowing if a message was sent, assuming that he even knew what the bracelets do.
((Assuming he somehow can. Which he can't. He can't exactly murder students if they tell a teacher about it, after all, there's nothing he can do in such a situation. He still needs rolls to attack and teachers can simply reflect the spells with a simple combat magic roll.))

((Actually, no one's lied about the murders yet because no one's asked where the bullies are yet.))
((Victoria has. Lyle equivocated that they were still in the maze (technically true since no one removed their remains).))
