Can we get this updated for 40.01 please :)

SPOILER ALERT
Build a Trade Depot anywhere on the map.  now hold Shift+D (Depot access display) while viewing a Z-level that has been completely untouched by miners.  All 'normal' stone areas will have big red D's all over them.  Any area with *any* sort of site feature will be blank (no D's).

I'll put together something tomorrow, but there isn't that much at the moment until the tileset authors catch up and dfhack  updates the memory structures...
On the other hand, I can't wait to see how df2014 caverns will look like with rendermax enabled. I just love the new trees! :)

Double update time!  8)

As promised here is the new Macnewbie Pack 0.9 with DF 40.01. Macnewbie Pack 0.9.1 with DF 40.02.
I fixed the fullscreen mode with SDL update, and the backspace key to work correctly, plus added all the utilities and graphic packs that are updated officially or unofficially.

Spoiler: Changelog: (click to show/hide)

And here we have the last DF 2012 Macnewbie Pack
(provided I didn't fsck anything up. :)

Stonesense is added, tested to work on OSX 10.7.5, no idea about other platforms. Overlay mode doesn't work for me. Please note, that if you want to launch stonesense you have use a graphics pack WITHOUT TWBT because they both use opengl rendering, and don't work at the same time. So either switch to ASCII while you use stonesense, or open /data/init/init.txt and set PRINT_MODE to 2D.
I also played  a while with the rendermax plugin, and added a few new lights based on Boltgun's configuration, I highly recommend giving it a go. Plus there are a few minor fixes, enjoy.

When I try to run DF on my Mac (via either the launcher or the df script), I get same thing in command window:

Last login: Sat Jul 12 17:53:05 on ttys000
Macintosh-2:~ sten$ /Applications/Macnewbie/Dwarf\ Fortress/df ; exit;
logout

[Process completed]

And no DF!  :-[

This happened the first time I launched the game with soundsense, but I also had to install the latest version of quartz. Just took care of that and started the game -without- soundsense and the game launched! Currently creating a new world.

@butter: Thx! Afaik soundsense shouldn't cause problem with quartz, as it is a java app, but on 10.8+ I heard that DF itself needs the newer Quartz/X11. So you -should- be able to play with sound after updating Quartz, and the soundsense problem should be a different one that can be solved by upgrading java. Link is in the OP. Let me know if it's not the case...

@Urist: As written in the OP upgrade Xquartz and try the game afterwards. If you still're still unable to play, let me know your OSX version and also which version of the pack you have problem with: If it's Macnewbie 9+ than please try the official version, and report if that launches correctly, so I can find what's causing the problem.

It worked! I did not realize I need to upgrade Xquartz again for the new DF. Thanks. :)

Also, after I tried it again with sound and the intro movie turned off, I got an error message that made it more obvious what the error was:
