(( What does everybody think? I think I'm gonna pull our auto cannons back to the third line now, they'll just get smashed again by the enemy armor if they're positioned and we can't afford to lose any more of them. I'm thinking for the second line to just put in infantry and anti armor then focus on destroying the tanks then fall back to third line to make a stand. ))
Agreed.

((I don't know, autocannons are practically designed to take out lightly armoured vehicles - like the halftracks))
Also, if any of the scouts have the range, they should Try to snipe any enemies trying to effect crossings for the armour.
The longer they're stuck trying to cross the trench, the longer our artillery has to range in and wreak havoc.

(( We're not facing halftracks though, we're facing leman russ battle tanks. They're not lightly armored vehicles and as the first line showed. They have no problem taking out the cannons

But I agree with the sniping, the longer they are stuck under basilisk fire the better, if we can remove them then we can hold the third line without to much trouble hopefully. If not then they have to cross over all over again on the next line buying us time to prepare. But I need to know what we recovered and if we have any earth shaker rounds.

Pretty much I'm going to place the guardsmen in leather armor and the anti armor in the 2nd line but do it quietly so nobody sees them, man the third line with everything else so the enemy sees them and assumed we abandoned the 2nd line to buy ourselves time then when they send in the armor the 2nd line comes up and smashes any that survive the artillery then they bolt for the 3rd line.

I'd consider calling for reinforcements as well but I doubt the other regiments could spare us anything and I want to know what the heck is going on with these commissar, but I have a bad feeling they're already corrupted. Something is very off in the way they're acting. ))

at its front a line of Leman Russ Battle Tanks charges full speed at your position surrounded by a cultists interspersed with halftracks carrying the strange Quad Linked Autocannon platforms you'd seen at the Chaos encampment.
We're facing both.

Meh the half tracks ain't the main problem though, them we can handle pretty easily they have very pore armor. The tanks are the danger.

Those Leman Russ' are leading the way, which is a perfect opportunity for our AT squads to put some holes in them. So I agree with Alex's plan to leave the AT squads and some infantry behind and move the heavy weapons back to the third line to keep them safe until they tanks are wiped out. The men in the 2nd line should retreat immediately once the Leman Russ' taken out, to minimise casualties taken from those halftracks.

We should delay the movement of the heavy weapons, however, until the Leman Russ' have begun making their way across the second trench line.

+1 to focusing on preventing the crossing of the tanks over the 1st trench.

EDIT: We shouldn't underestimate those halftracks. The tanks can wipe out entrenched positions and our heavy weapons, but those halftracks will shred our infantry and pin them down. Almost equally dangerous IMHO.

I'm not gonna underestimate them, but compared to the tanks they are a far more minor danger and much simpler to destroy.

(( Hows the wall coming behind the third trench? Did we recover the anti armor weapons and auto cannons before retreating? Or the usable armor and ammo?

Do we have any earth shaker rounds for the basilisk?

How many tanks do they have? ))
1) The wall has made little progress so its not been mentioned.
2) No weapons or armor were taken except for what the surviving soldiers had to begin with and the gear of those units in the hospital.
3) The basilisks have plenty of ammo left.
4) You're not sure how many tanks the enemy has.
Then finally, as a side note, your autocannons can take out enemy armor since in the battle they took out a handful of halftracks and a Leman Russ, but its your call.

Use autocannos on halftracks, basilisks on tanks, Hydra(s) on infantry

(( I'll leave this turn up to the others to decide all the deployment stuff :).

I suggest using just infantry to counter the enemy armor then an immediate retreat to conserve the cannons but thats all.

Do we have any special shells for the mortars? Like incendiary or chemical shells or smoke? ))

Focus basilisk fire on leman russ and then on half tracks, after that have them fire on the canyon walls and attempt to collapse them to block the enemy advance.

(( Ok second job after we execute our commanding officer for not sending us more men is to execute whoever was in charge of supplying us for not giving us better munitions.

Ahh well artillery order given so the rest is down to the others :) I did all the work for the first line to divide men up to prepare for the assault, the second line I'm not getting involved.))

Sure, not the plan I'd use but thats why I'm staying out of it this time :) you have to decide what to do for yourselves since I sort of took over the game.

Don't forget to specify how many of what men you use and where you place them.
