I don't think it's a good idea in the long run, growth and rep are kinda important (it'll probably cost you more to get them up again than the profit you got). Also, you need 110 or 115 GDP to buy/sell oil.

Unless you want to make small profits from the oil market (Not really that great, as people in the IRC are constantly buying when low, forcing the price back up, then selling rapidly to get it back down), then only buy oil if you have an airforce or plan on getting one relatively soon.

The only REAL money I think you can get for oil, is by investing a lot of money into oil wells and setting up deals with nations where you give them a certain amount of oil per month for cash.

You also need one mbbl of oil per point of growth, unless you want the growth to start dropping off atleast.

So what does the "beg your bloc for aid" thing do? Free soldiers, money, oil? You have to be at war with a member of the opposite bloc, but it seems very useful.
