I use to play this game a long time ago and it is loads of fun , but to those who are asking jedi questions .. This is not a game about jedi ,. You will never be able to make a jedi character from the start

jedi are RARE and this game was like that before PReCU which this is , if you wanted a jedi you had to work like hell to get one and even then the second you use your powers or pull our your lightsaber you became hunted(for a nice credit price) by every bounty hunter on the server who wanted to make a name for himself... You can not hide from them once they got a price on your head ..jumping planets, running far far away and hiding ..their droids will find you and make your cry

i know i was a BH :)

its hard and you are always outgunned just like it is in the starwars universe

Seems the server is down. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for it to get back up again?

Also, is there any disadvantage to multi-classing? I'm trying to decide whether I should get Artisan to get the resources for my future combat medic to be able to make chems or if I should just go for doctor and buy the resources I need.

Unless you take like every doctor profession there is (at least one of which is unimplemented) you should have plenty of skillpoints. Especially if you just take surveying. The question is do you wanna take the time to survey.

GAME. Y U NO LET ME MAKE NEW CHARACTER?! RAGLFRAGLFRAGL

(Seriously this is killing me. Making characters is like 80% of the fun for me)

EDIT: Ja, you'd have to master Medic, Combat Medic, and Doctor to not be able to max the basic survey path. And even then you could take survey one.

The potential disadvantage to multiclassing is that your character has a limited number of skills. I highly recommend exploring the skill point calculator in the launcher when  deciding on a build for yourself.

Welp, I've gotten involved in a plot to create a casino on Tatooine. Also a few tens of thousands of credits from my luck during the game tests.

Eh? Who on earth tatooine have you been hanging out with?

Also, I've been advancing my artisan character. I'll max out surveying once I have the credits, and I can make personal mineral extractors now. I'm going on vacation though, so time/internet connection may be limited.

It's Tatooine. Half the people there are odd. Even more after hours.

I spent a half hour in the Mos Eisley Cantina between the hours-old corpse of a doctor whose race I can't recall, a wookiee ballerina, and a fat, blue, half-naked male Twi'lek dancer.

So if I were to attempt to buy one of the original copies on amazon in order to play this; which copy should I get? There are many different ones and I honestly can't figure out which one would be required in order to make use of with this.

EDIT: Good god these are expensive. I was expecting around 10-20 dollars for a new copy, not $40+.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

They seem to be planning on adding everything that didn't screw up the game at some point, so I'd probably go for The Total Experience. It's the version I have, at least.

Any version of the discs will do.

Specifically, the Mos Eisely Cantina.

I'm currently looking into how to start a guild, but not having played the original game I'm not very clear how to. Now that I might be making structures soon it seems like it's about time. Does anybody know how to go about this? I know the post-NGE wiki says you need a guy of a specific trader class to craft a guild charter.

As far as I know, you indeed have to buy/craft a deed for the guild hall and then build it. THEN you can name the guild and start recruiting.
