((Irony Owl am I correct in guessing that the "simpler" an action is the lower the roll required to partially succeed?))
"So it is my time... how the world has changed.... ... ... I see that I do not have long for it either if no-one heeds of me..."
Create a series of black monoliths about the size of a man scattered across the globe, upon each in faintly glowing script that is able to be understood by any sapient, upon each stone record some individual facet of the world and all the information about it. (Feature)

Is not really a planet right now each region is something akin to disk world and all the regions are current attached by the key gateway region.

Speaking if that seeing as though when I created that region I got a 5 in total could we have a new description of it ? Is it more habitable and a better region now ? But just not connecting it's self automatically to new regions.

Also could we get a list of what has been created and the features under it as well please so we know about each region and what is already in it and also what has spread between the regions

I wish you'd taken my advice rather than continue arguing forever and forever.

Modifier? Let's say you wrote it in. NO TAKEBACKSIES. >_>
Mm, so that's three votes in favor of silence. >_>

But yes, too late now. :x

((Irony Owl am I correct in guessing that the "simpler" an action is the lower the roll required to partially succeed?))
For the most part no; a [1] is still a backfire, a [3] is still a partial success, and so on. The downside to more complex actions is usually in their other attributes, if there are any, or in the physical possibility of performing the action.

Speaking of which, I might allow creating something in multiple regions at once like that depending on what they did; trivia stones could probably pass, but I'm a little unclear on what "and all the information about it" means. Trying to make a master stone at the same time strikes me as two separate projects, though.

Assisting rolls aren't additive. Five gods all getting [1]s would just chain-bork the creation over and over again, not mold it perfectly.

I believe what you're looking for is under the OP, past the god rosters.

Even if we take what you claim as all that's needed as actually all that's needed, a claim which I doubt
What makes you say that?
Knowledge of ecology. But I've already explained my reasoning, why bother doing it again?

Now answer my actual questions and don't, how'd you put it, "become confused and focused on irrelevant things." Why is forcing the players to make each individual species good for the game?
Are you confusing how the game works with how reality works again?

If not, what are you trying to say there? It looks like you're saying I'm lying or fickle or something.
Firstly: I'm so sorry that your attempts to make the regions in the game somewhat ecologically sound made me think that you wanted to make your game follow basic ecological rules.

And it would be nice if you answered the following question, which I've asked several times now:

How does forcing players to make each and every species separately improve this game?
And while I'm asking questions I wanted answered:
Why did you not give me a "nearest possible action" or else another turn to make a valid action in?

((I do hope you realize, and possibly LISTEN to us when we say that there are no SPECIFICS, but GENERALITIES. Given how you said earlier that everyone else but the GM is ignored by you...

Second, it isn't FORCING, but COMMON SENSE. While it does make rational thinking sound bad in the concept of hunger, food and self-preservation, note that the world is still in its basic stages. The lack of sun is something to complain about, eh? So much that I seem to note that you're complaining about only your actions instead which only pokes at specific details in the game. Which leaves a lot of space for error.  :-\

Next, basic ecological rules stand. The world is only in it's fourth turn >.> Stop with the criticism and wait until the world gen is over, please?

Lastly, you should've, in the least, targeted a living animal or fauna with your action. Instead of specifying something that we, in our modern world, perceive to carry said disease.

Unless you want me to berate you on exactly how pathogens spread and their mechanism of action as well as the needs of habitat and the explicit intricacies for them. Note: This is hypothetical.))

Alright then, Tiruin, let me put it this way: What would be wrong with allowing players to populate their regions with basic wildlife? How would that make the game better?

And as to the second, it relates to my misunderstanding that we wouldn't need to make every beetle, rodent, worm, grass, spider, minnow, algae, ant, leech, squirrel, lizard, fly, songbird, anemone, sea star, bee, coral, mushroom, earwig, bat, finch, shrub, bacterium, etc, that exists.

Create artifact The Slab of History and place it Althaines Mountains

A stone slab which has all of the worlds history on it and it writes itself.

Firstly: I'm so sorry that your attempts to make the regions in the game somewhat ecologically sound made me think that you wanted to make your game follow basic ecological rules.
The game does follow basic ecological rules. That's why things need other things to eat.

Requiring thousands of species for a stable ecosystem is not what I would consider a "basic" ecological rule. Actually, I don't think I'd consider that a rule at all; I'd call that a threshold on some other concept.

And it would be nice if you answered the following question, which I've asked several times now:

How does forcing players to make each and every species separately improve this game?
It serves the focus of the game better and meshes well with how tribes will work.

And while I'm asking questions I wanted answered:
Why did you not give me a "nearest possible action" or else another turn to make a valid action in?
For the former, because that would require more creative adjustment than I'm inclined to provide; there were at least three problems with your action. Scaling the power/effects I'm familiar with, but lacking a target region and infesting creatures that don't exist both strained it well past "your action but molded to work" levels.

For the latter, because I really didn't have any sympathy left for you at that point. You had page after page after page to figure out what was going on, both from my explanations to you and from you trying to get further information out of me. The end result was that you were under the exact opposite impression and violated a basic rule of creation.

Under those circumstances, I'd say explaining what went wrong was more important than trying to estimate what you wanted within the way the game actually works.

While the world was forming, and the dieties were going about their work, Eleri thought and pondered.

And she spoke.

"Fellows, this world is lacking." she said onto the land and the void, "The basis for life is simple. Mundane. It perishes easily, and without further care.

"Our time is dwindling. Therefore I offer a proposal."

She moved her hands, gesturing and forming an image of every fauna, flora and empty space in the world. With the latter consuming about 99% of the image.

"Potential. I ask everyone to aid me in this quest: to stabilize our environment. As all know, diversity and relativity will rule this world when we are gone, but that is a rule which we can change. I propose that we diversify this world; setting the non-sapient forms and giving them minor species alike to themselves. Our background for life, if in case life would fail itself.

"All it needs, is a shift in the atmosphere, or perhaps a celestial body to guide it all. Without these, the world will fail.

"Do I have your opinions here?"

-snip-

1. You've never explained where the line is drawn.

2. How? How does making sure that no insect exists without a player spending an action per species mesh with the tribes? Will you be forced to spend a turn on each building you want them to set up, each field you want them to plow? And what is the focus of the game, that making nothing without spending absurd amounts of time to set up an ecosystem?

3. So, basically...you don't like me because I argued against your arbitrary and poorly-explained rules, and you were too lazy to come up with an alternate that worked within said rules?

Half the point of this is to try and help make this a better game. That's a bit more difficult if people can't see what Irony and I say.

((IMO, it annoys me.

Because it isn't constructive at the moment. Anything else I'd add onto that statement would dishonor one or probably even both parties involved.

So I ask; please, continue your conversation with IronyOwl over the Private Message system, and when you're satisfied with the result, post what your findings are on the thread so we can all see the result of it all. Thanks.))

I'm actually not having high hopes about this, given the number of veiled insults and question-dodging I'm seeing from Irony. My hopes are just even lower for PMs.

((It makes no difference. You'll be heard both ways, and employing the veil of negativity or pessimism will get nothing out of it. As well as generalizing all his posts in regard to you.

So...PMs, please? All it takes is for you to start it up, before perceiving any negativity on his side. Because assuming is the worst thing you can do here as well as bias on your own point of view--I'm seeing it all as a debate. Anyway:

May we not clutter this thread more than is needed, thanks. Send your PM to him, and let the game roll on its course. You can complain about it when all major gods die and the world dies with it, perhaps.))
