There's nothing quite like the brief feeling of satisfaction you get between realising your fort is completely impregnable, and realising you have no way for migrants or caravans to get in...

I had a Titan show up on my map and it ended with "emits an aura of giving and kindness". I thought wow, my first friendly megabeast. He then charged towards my gate and luckily as a precaution I turned my burrow on so no one was hurt. My army quickly severed its arms off followed by its head.

Forest spiders. They appear in groups of three (immediately being replaced by another if the last group leaves or dies).
They wander harmlessly around as long as I watch them, but as soon as I turn my back they become enraged and start tearing dwarves apart.
My one fully armed and armored military dwarf can handle them easily, but always takes too long to get to the carnage.
I've sealed the entrance until I can get some cage traps set up, maybe prevent more from spawning.

I embarked on the shore of a lake, only to find that it's frozen, and my dwarves have parked the caravan in the middle of it.  This is going to have to be the quickest unpacking of a caravan ever...

This for me always becomes a wonderful game of "guess how long I have until the lake thaws", weighing the loss of certain items against the loss of the dwarves.

This new Carebear reboot is weird.

Its a crossover. Carebear meets happy tree friends.

One meat and one bone, which lead to a loop of summoning/butchering then summoning more. Oops.

Playing dwarves. Joyous Wilds/Terrifying embark. MY Wrestlers guild dwarf, who is also my military commander and designated flower picker on the surface, was out harvesting. An owl spawned next to him on the edge of the map. He immediately uppercuts it, and then bites the head off. He has thus earned the nickname of Ozzy.  :P
