annoyance disappointment

Follow the other shapeshifter [Ted Carver].

Attempt to improve the shell.

(10) You follow Ted Carver into the top passage, on the way attempting to improve your shell. You manage to slightly improve it's mobility at the cost of big higher essence usage. (See Harry Baldman's action for the rest)

Total essence loss for this turn: 130, Status Effect changed: Shell, Skill points acquired: Adequate Shapeshifter: +1

Use my stone to explore.

(Passage Roll: 1) You use the light stone you acquired as a lighting source and non noticing anything more interesting in the area decide to explore through passage to the right from the portal. It goes straight for a while, and soon you get caught by a strong current. You reach big cave area, which is darker than previous one and there are not much light stones in the walls.
Also in the walls there are rather small passages, you briefly see movement in one of them. Then there's also a wide passage at the bottom of the area.

Total essence loss for this turn: 70

"Look, my friends! A hidden passage above me! I shall look into it!"

Ascend to the passage, take a look at what it might lead to.

You follow the passage to the top and shortly you reach what appears to be perfectly spherical room, surfaces of which are made entirely from light stone, it's very very bright in there. In the middle of it you notice small spherical object that seem to be not affected by all light around completely, it's suspended in mid-liquid and not moving at all.

Total essence loss for this turn: 90

Go to the right.

You follow the right passage, it goes on for a while, spiraling upwards, eventually you reach... dead end, though light stones here are in circular formation on the wall.

Total essence loss for this turn: 80

"Split paths. Very well..."

Since the good doctor is heading to the right, take the left fork.

Deciding to go through the passage on the left you soon reach another small cave area, it's filled with blue vegetation and there appears to be a few light-blue... eggs... on the vegetation formation in the middle. There are two more passages from this area, one to the left and one diagonally to the right-up.

Total essence loss for this turn: 70

Swim further.

(11)You navigate around the cave section, finding another passage, also you find some slightly different colored stones in a few places on the wall. While exploring for a split second it seemed like one of stones moved a bit, but it maybe just you.

Total essence loss for this turn: 80

Explore what lies beyond Passage #1.

You follow Kyle into the passage to the right, soon being caught by strong current as well and reaching big cave area. (See kj1225's action)

Total essence loss for this turn: 60

Continue along through the passage.

(14)You follow Clair while navigating through the cave section, you notice two passages from here, one to the left, and one up, different colored stones around. You hear some movement behind you, but once you look you don't notice anything.

Total essence loss for this turn: 80

"A sphere. How interesting!"

Examine sphere carefully. Any indication of what it might be used for? Also, don't touch it. Safety third, safety always!

Approach eggs, examine from a short distance away and try to glean more information about them. Maybe give one an exceedingly gentle poke with the staff. Perhaps whatever laid them is still around!

Follow the movement.

(13)You follow to the spot where you saw the movement and look around. Briefly, in another one of small passages, you see some kind of long dark-blue scaley creature, it goes away way too quickly for you to get exact appearance though. You go towards that passage and look through, but the creature is gone and don't seems to be there anymore.

Total essence loss for this turn: 70

curiosity

Inspect the strange sphere.

Don't touch it.

((OOC:

Scionox, on Skype: Y don't touch? :3

Just saying.))

(5)You carefully move around the sphere, inspecting it, it's not affected by light but you are sure that it's made from some sort of stone. Suddenly you touch something and sphere quickly moves around then into opposite direction from you, and as you move more it changes direction of it's movement towards you,(RtD: 17-2) you move out of it's way in time though.

Total essence loss for this turn: 95, Skill points acquired: Dabbling Dodger: +2

May it is, but better sure then maybe.

Investigate the stones

(9)You investigate the different colored stones, they surely are made from somewhat different material, a bit softer than normal stone of those caves. You are not sure whether those stones can be useful or not.

Total essence loss for this turn: 70

"A sphere. How interesting!"

Examine sphere carefully. Any indication of what it might be used for? Also, don't touch it. Safety third, safety always!

(17)You examine the sphere, it's made from some kind of stone that is not affected by light and it looks like that is only it's outer shell. Suddenly sphere starts moving around, The Shifter triggered something, and before you can react it moves towards him. He dodges though. You briefly look around and notice very thin strings of light that blend very well with lighting in the area and that connect the light stone walls to the sphere in some places.

Total essence loss for this turn: 70

Approach eggs, examine from a short distance away and try to glean more information about them. Maybe give one an exceedingly gentle poke with the staff. Perhaps whatever laid them is still around!

(18)You find you way through vegetation and approach eggs, staying short distance away from them. To think about it now those eggs are rather large, in height they are almost the size of yourself. You gently poke one of eggs with your staff, it's shell is rather tough. At first you are not sure who those eggs belong to, but shortly in the distance of one of the passages you notice a rather big reptilian creature with fins, you feel like it's a good thing that it didn't noticed you.

Total essence loss for this turn: 80

Cautiously follow Kyle, peeking around to see if there isn't more movement around.

(4)You cautiously follow Kyle around, looking around you don't notice any more movement in any of the passages.

Total essence loss for this turn: 60

Praet whirrs lightly as he begins searching the area for any potential ambushers, keeping his rifle at the ready.

(1)You start looking around, keeping the rifle ready. The second you see strange movement at the edge of your view, you flip out and shoot whatever without figuring out much on what it is, or even aiming, essence projectile from your rifle misses it. Apparently it was just a small rock that fell from nearby wall.

Total essence loss for this turn: 150

Inspect circular light stones.

(11)You inspect the light stones. They seem to be same as other light stones from earlier on and there's ten of them, though, you also notice that there's two spaces that seem to be missing a light stone, one on the top left of the circle and one on the bottom.

Total essence loss for this turn: 80

"Hm. It looks like this sphere is attached to the walls! And I don't like it!"

Try to sever the strings with the starched cloth shiv, as many as possible. Keep an eye on the moving sphere.
