We're somewhere in Solitude at the moment.  As for leaving Skyrim, well, that's a long-term goal.  Maybe you should focus on leaving this prison, first.

I still think our race should have been: Ka po'tun
Who doesn't want to be a lion/man.
Their leader even !!became!! a dragon

Use considerable girth on the door. Do it enough so they believe it is locked, and we couldn't have entered. Because we obviously don't know lock-picking spells, they were all forgotten.  :P

They probably have a key, and if they try to open it and it doesnt work, were in big trouble.

peek out the door of the office. If the coast is clear, cast open easy lock on the doors across the way.

[4] You peek out the door and attempt to cast your open spell on the far door.  It doesn't work, whether because the stress of the situation has made you forget how to cast your new spell or the lock is simply too strong for it you're not certain.  You slide back inside the office and shut the door, then lock it.

drink the other magicka potion

You drink your last magicka potion.  Your magicka reserves are nearly full.

Potion of Restore Magicka removed from Inventory.

Wait... Wait. It's so simple. It's been there all along, right below our noses, taunting us. Cast Clairvoyance, it will show us the quickest route to our next quest object. :P

It won't take enemies we can't win against into account, though...

Addendum:
into the barracks.

Throw various weapons inside the barracks at the Thalmor.  Maybe we'll kill a few of them.

Like this?

 ?      __
|  |   |c |                  ?= unexplored
|  |__|   |                  X=starting point (outside our starting cell that is)
|X  __  S|___             c= cell block (dead end)
|  |   |   |  b|             S=doom and mayhem
|? | x|   |__|              x=locked doors beyond our current abilities
        |   |o  |             o= office (current location)
       x|__|__|

I am assuming we were led into the cell along one of the halls we missed at the beginning. Seems like that is our way out, provided we can somehow survive the pointy eared ones long enough to get there.

check for trap doors and the like in the office.

If we do charge, let's use the arrows instead of the knife. Be sure to aim for their knees.

what?

It had to be said.

I'm so very sorry.

They aren't nords.
And, taking an arrow to the knee, is an old scandinavian expression wich means: getting married.

We're a Sload. We don't have thumbs. We just sort of ooze our "hand" around things. I don't think we're going to be very good at combat.
