I have most of them done, but I'm having a bit of difficulty with what to do about people who aren't in control of a civ.
All the rules for mass-scale combat are finished, but I have 28 players, so clearly I still need rules for small scale encounters.

Don't worry about me.  Super Saiyans can wipe out armies by themselves....well, technically anyone can if they roll a 6.

For some reason, Wolfchild gets a fleeting feeling that he should kill this guy rather than convert him

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

Really, I could fairly quickly be taken down by a 2 or 3 dragons.  The only reason I could beat regular armies is because of Super Saiyan power levels making me immune to arrows/bullets.

I doubt that Mastahcheese will work that into the mechanics.

Ok, I have some time to answer the various questions now.

Mastahcheese, what will happen to magic and such when we reach the space age? Generally, it just goes bye-bye, but it would be interesting to see a sci-fi setting featuring wizards.
Magic will start to fade away long before the space age is reached, but don't worry, there will always be some still floating around here and there.

You mean like Star Wars?
Also, can you share your Mass Combat Rules? We could help. If we get sleep.
Not really, magic isn't powered by microbes, otherwise Arch would be a lot more powerful.
Ok, some (basic) idea of how mass combat (hopefully) works.

There are 3 basic unit types, and then archers. There are also more complicated units but those are still being worked out. Also, this stuff is just for up to the Iron Age, once gunpowder is invented, then these unit types will start shifting.

There is Mainline Infantry. These will make up usually half of your fighting force, they aren't really all that interesting.
There are Shock Infantry. These are heavy units, and have a +1 bonus to other infantry types, but -1 to archers.
There are Skirmishers. These are a lighter unit, and get +1 Vs. archers and Siege, and attack first in combat.
Archers can attack from 2 spaces away, and obviously have that advantage over Shock Infantry, but are weak to Skirmishers.

The battles will take place over a hex grid, and troops need to be adjacent to their target, except for archers, obviously.
You can move a unit one space, or attack, not both. When attacks are made, each unit rolls a die, and adds whatever bonuses they get, and then whoever rolls higher, kills off that many troops in the loser's squad. Except in ranged combat, where only the attacker can deal damage.

Each turn is divided into 3 phases, early day, late day, and night. Basically each phase lasts 8 hours, so technically there are 2 hours of "night" during the day phases, but I figured people could still see ok during that time. You issues orders to all of your units for the whole day, not for each phase. This is both to speed things up, and to simulate the fact that Copper Age warlords don't have cell phones.

If a unit does not sleep at night, then they will get tired, giving them a -1 penalty for each day, until 3 days, at which point they will be forced to rest the entire day. So for long distance travel, it's pretty safe, but not in a hostile environment.

When a city produces a unit, you don't choose which one it is, I roll a die, and on a 1,2, or 3, it's Mainline Infantry, on a 4, It's Shock Infantry, 5 are Skirmishers, and a 6 makes Archers. You can build building that increase the chances of a certain type, which in turn decreases the chance of Mainline Infantry. For example, you want more Archers, so you make an archery range. Now you'll get Archers on a 6 or a 3, with only a 1 or 2 being normal troops.

Stuff like cavalry are unit upgrades, which are still being worked out. But horses will be a valuable commodity.

That about sums it up on combat, do you desire any clarifying further?

Oh come on, I'm already making the TARDIS. Not like the space age is that far away.
Yeah, that has nothing to do with the Space Age, I've already figured out how the Tardis will work. And you shall be disappoint.

A new dwarf strolls into the fortress's caves.
You have pretty horrible timing, you know that?

Is what happens that everyone rolls a 1 or 6?
Not everyone, just the wrong people rolled the exact wrong ones at the exact wrong time.

Mastahcheese, whatever happens, just remember....my power armor gives me a +3 bonus to not dying horribly :P
Oh, I know. You'll need it.

Yeah, you can't stop a bullet. Or very much, for that matter.
