Ceil only approached a horse cautiously, laying one hand on the saddle. She stood for a few moments with a wary look on her face.

"Blue hair might indeed but such an affair, I've not seen many who could be your pair. I've heard of being blue blooded, but it seems it is butted with hair, an interesting tear. Flooded with old rhymes, but few keep with the times."

The maged looked to the healer, speaking. "Do you plead the need for help? I'd offer, if you'd take it from this whelp."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Diana looked over.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Lady Ciel. I didn't realize you needed help."

She goaded Eurydice slightly closer to the healer and her horse.

"I would be happy to offer assistance as well."

Ceil shook her head.
: "No, I'm sorry. Horseback riding isn't exactly one of my better suits, but I won't be a burden."
She pulled herself, rather clumsily, onto the saddle. Once there she clutched onto the reins tightly.

~Chapter Two~
Help in Strange Places
Diana and her Princess Guard, having chased off a group of deserters near the Durhiel/Ulfijan border, continued north into the neighboring empire. As they entered the massive forest known to locals as The Deepwoods, Biggs and Wedge, the most experienced of the group, expect bandits, though what they encounter is quite different...

"It's amazing, wouldn't you say, Princess? Things growing so high... It makes you wonder why we don't have forests in Durhiel." As had been par for the course so far, Wedge continued to chatter away about local peculiarities as they rode. Biggs stayed silent, turning his gaze about the forest as birdsong floated over the group.

[Haspen]

"Looks like I've ended in the forest after all." Oscar mumbled ot himself and then placed his hands behind his neck.

"Hey, miss Diana, do your family have a private forest? Lots of nobles, from what I know, own private forests and lakes and other places."

[Powder Miner]

Jago had to chuckle a little at Oscar.
:"Well... the guard guy was just talking about the lack of forests in Durhiel, soooo I'm guessing no."

[Haspen]

"His words could as well as indicate that Durhiel is a desert."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Not that I know of. My father did hunt every once in awhile, but I never went."

Diana shrugged.

[Praefectus Screptum]

"This is all new to me! But it is such a impressive sight.."

[Xanmyral]

"Ah the forest, truly it is not the poorest of locations, indeed I exclaim that of the untame, that which has no name is that with the most fame." The mage soliloquized to himself, seeming to be very happy to just be in the forest. It helped put his mind off of riding this horse, which turned out to be both much more uncomfortable than he had thought, and more concentration breaking than he's used to.

As the conversation slowed again, something seemed off. The birds had stopped singing.

The mage's mood significantly dampened. "...Predators lurk, that is no quirk...." Enoch spoke quietly to the group.

"Biggs, Wedge, do you see anything?"

Diana looked around as she asked.

Jago noted with some nervousness that he and the horse he was very poorly riding were towards the outside of the group.
:"Aw sh**, are you saying we're about to get jumped at?"
