Diana watched all of this before interjecting.

"So, keys and vulneraries. How much of each should we get?"

"That's a good question, we may or may not have to face more enemies in the future.. "

"One for each soul, that would be a sufficient toll, and a good pole to measure by if we're beset by another lull. The keys I'll leave to you hes and shes, if they do as you profess then I do confess having some would not do us less." The mage tried to helpfully chip in.

Diana thought about how many people there were in the party, including Biggs and Wedge but subtracting herself from the vulnerary count because she wasn't any good with them.

"Let's see. Two door keys and seven vulneraries sound like a good idea?"

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

"Then it's settled."

Diana turned her attention back to the shopkeeper.

"Two of your keys and seven vulneraries, please."

Once the goods were handed over, Diana would take the keys (for the moment) and give everyone else a vulnerary.

The woman took the gold and handed Diana the requested goods. "Thank you kindly, and safe journey to you. May I ask where you're headed?"

Oscar's eyes slowly went to look at Diana when the question was spoken.

"Hopefully somewhere safe."

Diana sighed.

"...What do you think about Exsten's invasion?"

"I can honestly say I wasn't expecting it." The woman said, tilting her head to one side, frowning. "Of course, I'm just a simple merchant. I can't pretend to understand what drives foreign leaders. It's rumored that Osngaria has fallen too... You have to wonder if Ulfijan is safe..."

The merchant shook her head, and forced a smile. "Oh, you don't want to hear my doom and gloom. I'm sure they wouldn't be so foolish as to stretch their reach to Ulfijan, even if they could harm the King of Durhiel. You hear tales about that axe, you know. I bet you only the Empress could ever hope to beat him."

"You're right, of course. No one can defeat King Drahool!"

She hoped she came off more as a Durhiel patriot than as a doting daughter.

"But still... one can't help but worry. The majority of us are refugees from Durhiel, you see. I just hope when all is said and done, we still have homes to return to."

"I'm sure you will. I just hope peace comes quickly. A longstanding war between Durhiel and Exsten would be terrible for everyone."

"Milady Helena, I do not wish to interrupt, but is there any more you wish to see in the city? We have spent quite some time here, and Biggs will have the horses ready soon, I am sure."

Diana glanced at Wedge.

"Of course. Good day, madam, and good fortune to you."

She inclined her head to the merchant for a moment, then turned her attention to Wedge fully.

"It is probably for the best we do not tarry. And as we observed earlier, this place is pretty quiet right now. Let's check on Biggs."

"You have my thanks. This will prevent many of us from becoming planks upright in the dirt, it will save many from their hurt." Enoch thanked Diana for the medicine in a, possibly, rather morbid way.

"Agreed, now that our need has been paid heed." The mage nodded, falling in step with the others.
