"I already told you my 'clear goal'. Kill Armad, Ansel, and any other members of the Exsten royal family."

Still, that plan at least sounded workable.

"We'll have to move quickly. There won't be much time for gathering supplies and support. The sooner we can get our hands on Ascalon, the better. As for who will wield it... I'll entrust that duty to Tyrn. I'm certain he'll be able to."

She nodded at her friend.

"Well good, because I'm not going to. But you should understand, properly wielding Ascalon is not going to be as simple as swinging this thing around-" Wilfort pointed to his own lance. "- it's entirely different. My mother could handle any bow you stuck in her hand, but Brahmastra would only show itself in it's Greatbow form to her. There was said to be a second form it could take, a smaller bow that you could use at a more personal range, even more devastating if you ignored the drop-off in range-" Wilfort stopped, and took a deep breath. He was silent for a moment before continuing. "What I'm trying to get at, is it takes amazing skill to use the things at all. I'm not saying your man isn't up to the task, I haven't even seen him fight... But be sure that's where you want to place your bets. That's all."

"Next thing; should we spend the gold on arming ourselves better, and go in as a small, mobile force, or do we hire troops in Worus? They'd be simple to come by, and we could probably buy a decent size company with the gold..." Wilfort trailed off, his face difficult to read in the dim light.

"We arm ourselves. Extra troops would only slow us down and make us more noticeable. We need to be able to sneak in and strike quickly before Armad has a chance to mount an organized defense."

Wilfort sighed again. "Great. I was worried you'd say that." Wilfort leaned back, propping himself up on his palms for support. "...I'm going to be honest with you. We're probably going to die when we try this. Unless Ansel left literally nothing behind but his son, I expect we're going to fail. But I want Ansel dead, same as you."

"But... If it comes down to it, if we fail, and all our lives are forfeit, and I can save myself? I'm leaving. And I expect not to be shot in the back. If I can't get your word as royalty that you can do that for me, I'll get you as far as Worus, and then figure out my own way to kill Ansel. Fair?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Only if I have your word that if you 'save yourself', and the rest of us get out of whatever bad situation caused you to run off, you won't be a problem for me to have to deal with later."

The prince raised an eyebrow. "...Unless your idea of a problem includes me attempting to seek asylum, or trying to get Ulfijan back on its feet, then yeah, I think we're fine."

"And before you insinuate it, trading you to Ansel for my country doesn't count as that second one. Not that he wouldn't put Allondight through my neck if I tried to suggest  it."

"...Very well, you have my word that if you choose to leave the group, I won't kill you as you flee. Now, what else do we need to discuss while we have the time?"

  "Uh-uh, I want your word that none of your subordinates will try it either." Wilfort sat up straighter, folding his arms in front of his chest.

Even in the midst of his personal crisis, the strange mage couldn't help but have his attention drawn in by the conversation. He merely remained quiet as he watched, his hood obscuring too much of his face beyond a slight smirk at the scene as he stayed seated quietly on the horse. Nice to have something to distract, at least, specially since he's given up finding anything of use on the saddle.

Diana glanced at Oscar. He was the most unpredictable person in their group.

"I honestly can't speak for all of them. I can only promise that I won't give an order."

  "Well I'd feel better if you gave them a direct order not to. But I guess I'll take it." Wilfort stood up, and patted dust from his trousers. "As for other things to discuss... We worked out a rudimentary plan to kill Ansel. We worked out how we're going to get there in the first place. And we've... Settled on how we'll be spending my family's money. Seems to me that short of particulars, that's the important stuff for now." Wilfort scooped up torch, and looked around for a short moment. "Right, that way. Is the healer done for now? We don't have a lot of time to spare."

"The sooner Armad is dead, the better. Let's walk."

Ceil had spent only a few moments quickly sealing Jago's, Otiros' and Kale's wounds, and performed a quick follow up on Freya. She began to walk towards Enoch, but it was at this moment Brann asked his question.
: "Well, and then what? You can't simply avoid the bloodshed all the time. What would have happened were I a carpenter, or a smith right now? The world seems all but at war, and I would have likely been fashioning tools to perpetuate the fighting anyway..." Ceil looked aside for a moment, but then continued on, "I guess the final answer is that it was my family that inspired me to become a healer. But... Beyond that, I suppose I just like to help alleviate troubles at the source. It would explain why I picked it up so well."
Ceil shrugged and walked on.
: "Now why did you pick the sword over say, an axe or a bow, hm?" She asked, amused.

Wilfort shrugged, and urged his pegasus forward again, leading the group further and further throughout the mine.

Brann blinked and then shrugged.

"Well I tried to use a bow for a while. I was ok at it, could probably pick it up again if I chose to but... Swords are a bit of a tradition in my family. Father teaches son who teaches their son and so on. Apparently way back when the tradition was to teach lances instead but... something changed that. Don't know exactly what but... Doesn't matter. Point is, my quickness suits itself to swords. I don't have the bulk or strength needed for axes or wearing armor and such. So instead I use swords and just do my best to avoid getting hit in return. Which... sometimes works out better than others as this battle proved."
