Fox, can you explain why it uses street sense?

Talking to people helps a lot to avoid being seen when stealing a car, that doesn't sound right.
Street Sense is sort of like common sense, but more oriented towards knowing the city's ins and outs well and being experienced in how it operates. So that could include knowing where certain people (The people with the skills you want) hang out in the city, how to identify them, etcetera which would fall under street sense I believe.

Wait, 4.08? What exactly is going to be in the game thats big enough to warrant the jump to 4.08?

The mainline unveiling of National LCS features, this recruiting feature, and (I intend -- coding not done for this) the White House/President features.
Would you need to have Nation LCS on to go to the white house, or could you choose to travel to the white house with it off?

Maybe it involves the way your Liberal perceives a person.  For example, asking every person you see isn't efficient, while knowing the "look" of them would help.  Just a guess.
It makes sense
I still have two problems with it: it makes training stree sense too easy and boring and doing the same in site mode doesn't need that skill.

I am confused are you saying you changed the kidnapping so it is less... Saw?
Did Saw consist of you beating them then yelling Ronald Reagan in their face?

It seemed the most suitable to the nature of what the check represented. You do a street sense check to find the car you want, and likewise you do one to find the class of person you're looking for. It's not persuasion, because this isn't the check for convincing anyone, just tracking them down. You still have to persuade separately.

Edit: It's possible to change the way the check is done to make it not train the skill.

My intent is to ensure that any unique Washington DC features are accessible in either game mode. If necessary, I'll make "one city" really be two cities -- the default city, and a stripped down DC with just unique locations and one safehouse. That way you still get the ability to travel to DC and do stuff there, while still keeping the scope of the game generally limited to one city.

This is still a bit TBD. My initial designs for the White House location were to have it accessible through payments made at a Party HQ location, where you could bribe the Liberal Party to hook you up with a meeting with the President. I later revised this to integrate with the National LCS features.

In any case, the intent is to ensure that the classic one city mode remains full featured and isn't shut out of any DC-based direct action.

Great, I really cannot play the National LCS for some reason. The whole there being no commercial district thing just really turns me off the game for some reason.

I'm the opposite. It took me a while to get used to the commercial district back when it was first added to the game. It seemed a little too convenient at the time. Different strokes, I guess.

Though if it's bothering people that much (you're not the first to bring up the lack of Commercial District), maybe it should be added back in? It would probably have to be given different names depending on the city, though.

I also really don't like going to different cities, I like everything uniform, because its not just the the commercial distract thing though. It messes me up other ways, I can't play the game at the beginning because I always press the wrong keys and go to the wrong places, and it just turns me off before I can even get my starting six people.

Didn't Fox add a separate option for multiple city play?

Yes. His "Great, I really cannot play the National LCS..." really was a sincere "Great", because he's glad the DC features won't be locked out if you don't play the National LCS version.

Unless its a liberal president, then he wins to! And if its a moderate he neither wins nor loses.

Moderates win in the sense that they don't get shot. It's always a good day when you don't get shot.

I've implemented a feature very similar to this one, which will be in the upcoming 4.08 release.

You can pick Recruitment as an activity for the day. This pops up a menu like the clothes making menu giving various classes and difficulties. That day, the character will make a street sense check to find someone of that class. Short of trying to track down a character that doesn't spawn at the given laws (mutants at liberal laws, for example), you should be guaranteed at least one person, but high street sense will get you more, depending on how common the character type you're looking for is. If you get more than one, you can see their names, ages, and alignments, and meet with one or more of them, your choice. You don't have to meet with anyone if you don't want to; you can just ignore them all if they have the wrong alignments or whatever.
This is so brilliant and a very welcome addition. Any rough ballpark on when this will be released?

Roughly one week -- end of June, start of July.
