I should be scared Il Palazzo right he seems to kick a lot of *** if i go by the other rounds
Well tbh I should be afraid of everyone probably going to play hyper defensively and just try to last as long as I can.

Glad to see we're starting this.

Is it still possible to submit a different pretender design at this stage? And if so, any good tips?

You may resubmit your pretender as many times as you like, as long as the game is not yet started.
