First of all, you need to download the map and the mod(links will be provided after we decide on which one to use), and put the files into the map and mod folders of your dom3 installation respectively.
Then go to the options menu and enable the mod.
Next use the pretender creation tool in the game tools menu to create a pretender and send the file(to be found in your /dominions3/savedgames/newlords; named <your_nation_era_number.2h>, where number is most likely "0" if it's the only pretender you've created so far for this nation.) to "pretenders [at ] llamaserver [dot ] net" with the game name as the subject.
Game name will most likely be "Bay12GamesRound11".

You'll be recieiving .trn files from llama server, which you shoud put into a {dom3dir}/savedgames/{whatevernameyouwant}/
After finishing your moves, a new .2h file will appear in that folder, which you should send to the same address from which you've recieved your .trn file.

Yep it's play by email.  The game hosts after everyone sends in their turns to llamaserver or if times runs out.

I'd offer advice for your pretender except I never play that nation .

I guess some general advice couldn't hurt.

Try out all your pretender setups and see which ones give you a decent early good game expansion (about one province a turn).  You can use supercombatant pretenders which lose their worth late game or maybe you have a certain national troop or commander that would do well for expansion.  If your early expansion requires use of recruited units are they expensive or resource intensive?  Do your scales compensate for that?  If you have good troops you probably won't need a SC pretender but appropriate scales are more important and you might want to go with a bless, rainbow or late game caster pretender.

Pick from the pretender choices that have the best early expansion and see which one would work well with your vaguely defined late game strategy.  Common examples of late game strategies include use of global enchantments, lots of troops backed by mages casting battle spells, summoned troops, thugs and supercombatants.  Think about what your mages are capable of casting.  Are they capable of summoning good units?  Can they cast good evocation or battle buffs?  Will your mages need boosters?  Are they capable of forging those boosters or will your pretender need to forge them?  Can your pretender cast big late game spells like globals?

Just some stuff to think about.

Yeah i'm mostly getting my info from here http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Dominions_3:_The_Awakening/Nations/Shinuyama a person went and fill it out a lot so will be useful.
If he has not change my starting place I start on a island that about 10 area big + I can grab the water area around it with Kappas I just have to look out for evil priest since most of my units are demons
Shinuyama starting army is crap though I can't take an area on the first turn.

random question do you guy like to take a area on the first turn or do you wait for Intel to tell you what in the providence first?

   It depends on what you plan to take it with. Your generic troops you get I would say no because it would set you back quite a bit if you lose them. Of course if you have a SC Pretender build then that is basically meant for taking a province first turn. Though since you have to ask the general rule of thumb is no.

If I change the starting positions on the map, do all of you need a copy of that file for the changes to take effect?
