[ISG] Legends of Dawn - 20 Years in Jail
« on: April 26, 2013, 03:19:32 pm »

So you're a PC gamer, and this game just came out on Steam. It appears it's an RPG-esque game, but nobody really knows what it is except the fact that it just appeared a few hours ago and holy shit 20GB of files. It's a good thing you have a solid internet connection, but anyway, time to start playi-

Holy arse. Ok, this looks complex... the graphics aren't all that amazing, but then again, the graphics from Kirbature Studios never were up to scratch. Either way, you're going to need to look at the manual here. One moment...

Ah, alright. It runs on a pretty large system, so instead of having drop down lists for classes and such, it lets you type something in and comes up with something similar to what you've typed, then it'll come up with what you want. The three classes are in order of importance, so the main class goes first... Affinity appears to be to do with weapons and Aspect with elements. And Nickname is for OOC chat, apparently. So then, how are you going to fill this out...?

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

IDEAS IDEAS IDEAS

You suddenly get a load of ideas at once. Now, if we can just whittle it down to one good wait no forget that your fingers are already in motion.

Well, a Corrupt Halberd Frogknight with Cleric and Voidmaster seems fun... and apparently, the game is relatively balanced when stupid stuff like this turns up, but let's goooooo

oooooo into the massive loading screen. Some of the things in there worry you slightly, but you guess it's just Kirbature being silly, right?

Right?

Ah, here we go, narrative.

You have been imprisoned for 20 long, hard years, for a crime you did not commit. While in this cell, alone in the prison, your family have been murdered by bandits, the king has been corrupted by his assistants and there are rumours that Duke Sebastian is threatening a civil war. All is not well in the world of Dawn, but none of that matters down in your cell.

Until today.

Today is the day you make your escape. While you may not have much, you have your spirit, and that is one thing that has not died within you these last years. You will escape, you will exact your revenge on those who captured you, and you will save the day from the impending evil, or aid it t your will. But first, escape.

So then, how will you escape?

Grah, stupid invisible implied hitboxes! Why can't it just draw everything it wants to show up as a hitbox!

Burrow to freedom.

Hmm. It appears that Burrowing is a skill available to Frogmasters at a later level-and at the moment, you're Level 0, so you don't have a single skill to your name. How convenient. Talking of convenience, here comes some guy who you guess is a warden? I mean, he IS holding a batonthing.

And as casually as Kirbature could be bothered to animate, he just threw you a key. Hmm... a key in a situation in which you've had no input and there is only one thing to open. You wonder what it's for...?

Politely, call a guard over and give him the key back, parole is safer than escape.
