You actually should have been able to choose the patriarchy/matriarchy thing when you first created your house.  I don't remember if it had cognatic primogeniture... but probably not, since it would be kinda screwy to consider... what with marriage between houses as they are now.

I figured that was just to choose the gender of my starting leader. Or at least thats what I had hoped.

So I've gotten into this again. Currently trying to establish a religious empire in galaxy Baade. Any bay12ers still playing IN?

This looks interesting! Sadly, I'm in galaxy Draco.

Still unsure on this. It a MOO/MUD or a forum game or what?

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Man, this game is supes interesting. I'm excited to play this. Also the fact that days pass every 2 hours means the pace is just fast enough to keep me hooked!

If anyone wants to play together in Draco, you may find me as Lord Lau of House Manzi headquartered on Mintaka.

I guess it's kind of similar to Battlemaster?

It's a browser game where you play a noble house (galactic corporation with the trappings of a dynasty).

Some screenshots of the game

Neato. Draco is interesting because of their research restrictions, so you don't have access to all the planets and transportation as primary is a valid tactic for bigger operational range. Not like in Baade where the average technology level is 55 :P.

Yes, Draco has some very fun politics and it looks like I'm operating in a thus-far rather undeveloped sphere of influence!

That'd be fun. I am informed that the game is close to dying, which is a shame, because it seems a very awesome gem. Man its unique, the remaining players who love it seem genuinely bummed to see it so depopulated. Hopefully it can be revitalized.

Baade has two lovecraft religions if you're into that, House of Cthulhu (founded by the now dead House Alhazred) and Temple of the Old Ones, founded by Ingram, due to dissatisfaction with the "that is not dead which can eternal lie" management style of the House of Cthulhu by the catatonic Gaigolos. Luck of the draw whether you end up here though.

Other major religions include the Golden Vale, who believe they should make the world a better place because they'll eventually be reborn here as the wheel of reincarnation turns, sort of enlightened self-interest. Imperialism, which seems to be the "religious fundementalists" religion. Highlights include "support the emperor", "cybernetic implants are bad, we should tell the dolphins that", "polygamy is bad, we must tell a planet known for its polygamy that polygamy is bad", "chaos is bad. I mean the magical chaos. Normal chaos too though". Also Zotropism, the wishy washy religion of tolerance between faiths (tell that to the dozens of planets you have a 99.1% following on by ruthlessly wiping out their native religions), who pursue enlightenment through meditation or something.

Did I forget anyone *goes and checks*, oh yes, Cultus Col was revived, but it's owner is in the process of timing out, so I'm hoping it'll die again, and, ah, the Way of the Hunt, a minor fringe cult who apparently likes hunting and the chase. That's all we have. I'd be ruthlessly suppressing this utterly bland little faith if it isn't bad form to do that to a completely new faith. Well that and the owner is bigger and stronger than me.

My own religion is Ur-technica, a dead faith I picked up, which is super awesome for reasons I refuse to explain.

hey so, Baade seems like the most active of the galaxies. Any truth to that? It seems to me they're the only ones posting on the forums anyways.

Eh. It moves slowly, but it does at least move. We have like 3-5 people actively participating in RP. RP which solely consists of the imperial election at this point. So not too active I'd say. I think our general thread is just more active, but this isn't really an indication that our local rp forum is more active.

We're having great fun calling each other traitors, ignoring the constitution, mucking up election procedure, appointing people regent/emperor without their consent, claiming that I attacked that House because they were infected with mind-controlling fungus etc.
