Oh, and people. I vote we design a simple, low spec, unarmed, easy to control plane first. We have no airforces at present, so training vehicles are first priority.

Afterwards we can repurpose it for observation, I suppose. The transport craft might work for that too.

I am not sure that fighter is more important than the tank, in fact I'd prefer to concentrate on one project this turn if we do anything important, as we'll get more engineers next year and then may split our efforts.  And I'd prefer to start with way lighter tank to get experience...
_______________

My new offer:

Proxduction:
20 AIA
1500 SVA-25

Points:
TP-1
Armour Piercing (8 points)
Damage - 2 points
This machine gun will be not very effective at hunting enemy infantry, but it will be devastating for light armor of the era and we may build our first tank around it.
Maxims are good enough for anti-personal usage

LUP-40
Damage: 7 + 7
Accuracy: 12 + 2
Fast Winch: ( 12 Points )
Fast Reloading ( 9 points )

I offer:
GBT-1 Badger(ББТ-1 "Барсук")
Workspace:all aviable
Engineers:all aviable
What it is:Light-medium Tank
Max Weight: 10 tons
Engine:150 HP(diesel or gasoline)
Suspension:Christie
Crew:3 Crew(1 gunner, 1 driver, 1 commander)
Armor: 20 mm frontal armor(sloped at 45 degrees), 15mm sides and rear armor(sloped at 20 degrees)
Armament:2 TP-1s

I am assuming that even if machine-gun will not get accepted for infantry, that doesn't mean it will not be accepted for Tank

It has nice armor for it's size, and heavy machine-guns are enough for infantry support, later we may design Badger Mk2 armed with the gun, using all the experience we got from the first one.
For that era, two machine-guns were a typical armament for light tanks, and not 14.5mm, 7.5mm ones... Do not underestimate 14.5mm, that's a serious caliber

We should make small steps, not go advanced, at least until we not get something better than novice engineers

1+ Ukrainian Ranger idea.

We should start work on a short range submarine for self defense.

As we are inside the black sea large ships are useless to us.
The Bosporus is the only route in or out of the black sea, i say if war comes we mine it and have subs watch it.

Lets work the sea mines first and the subs later.
For now we can just roll the mines off the side of any old boat, later having a sub layer will be a great help.

Spoiler: submarine (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: 18 inch torpedo (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Mk 1 sea mine (click to show/hide)

Problems with your tank

a) 52 tonnes is not a medium tank. Tiger was 57
b) 160 mm armor is ridiculous for the tank of that era, tiger had 120mm.... And only on front. Tank with 160mm steel armor on all sides would weight something like 200 tonnes
c) 105 mm gun is an overkill for that era and heavy.
d) 1600HP engine? Thats more than Abrams have.

And so on

I based the tank on the British Centurion. it weighed in at 51 long tons and had 160mm all round slanted armour.

And remember, tanks aren't just for attacking other tanks. they are for breaking fortifications as well. 105mm is fine for AT and anti-infantry, and the 120 and 150mm cannons are for fortification busting.

and i said prototype 1200HP not 1600HP.

and why are so many people intent on following history 100%? if we build this monster, we'd be able to sweep enemy Armour and fortifications out our way. we wouldn't need large numbers of them. we could use a core of the as our spearhead supported by light tanks.

Plus, the chassis gives us a good base for other types of vehicles, such as Self propelled(SP) artillery, SPAA, combat engineering vehicles and armored troops transports.

but then we make the same mistakes.

The thing is, what i proposed could have actually happened in real history. its just all the major powers were so intent on building tanks that were infantry support focused they never really thought about building larger until the late 30's. All engineers (and there were some) who wanted to do something similar to me, were ignored.

If we get there early, we get a huge advantage.

Short answer: No. Primarily the part about MAJOR POWERS. Forenia is not a major power. It is a communist island with a few amateur engineers, not the cutting edge of engineering.

1928
A soldier sits on a chair inside a small pillbox. His brand new SVA-25 rests agains the concrete, while he waits for his comrade to return. When he does return, he returns with two welcome cups of hot tea.
' Quiet night, isn't it comrade? ' Said the arrival as he sat in the opposite chair.
' Yes. But, such is life as people in our positions, nothing much to do, long, boring...'
He is suddenly cut off by his friend as he suddenly looks out the firing slit and spots a man silhouetted agains the moonlight. He rushes to a nearby metal box mounted on the wall, sounding a loud klaxon.
' We are under attack comrade!' He says as he grabs his SVA-25, pokes it out and starts firing. Soon, three other pillboxes are firing either Maxims or SVA's at the attackers.
4 people seem to have luck with their bursts, killing one each and pinning the other 20 or so in position. The withering hail of bullets frightens the attackers, and soon they are running. They are seen making their way to a landing craft before pulling away from the shore. It seems they severely underestimated Forenia.
And now Forenia is at war.
The official declaration came from the offices of Toeren, a nearby island state, located in the Mediterranean. It is a facist state led by General Guantimo, and with a powerful navy. The landing craft was recon. Now it is time for full war.
Luckily this happened near the end of the year, meaning the new weapons were ready. And the prototypes were about to be tested.
TP-1 Heavy Machine Gun
Test 1- 20mm Angular Armour
The machine gun lets loose, the first burst bouncing, the third one bouncing again, and the final one bouncing. The officials do not look impressed.
Test 2- 20mm sloped.
The first burst bounces, while the second and third hit and penetrate. The politicians look more impressed with your creation.
LUP-40
Test 1- Infantry
The gun opens up, the HE rounds sailing towards the group of wood dummies, and the first burst completely annihilates the dummies. This test is met by standing ovation at the success of the gun.
Test 2- 20mm angular plate.
The gun lets forth three volleys, the last two completely shredding the plate with the first bouncing. The officials seem very pleased.
Test 3- 20mm sloped
The gun opens up, but all three shots sadly bounce. The officials are not phased though, and afterwards offer a new factory and more workers.
You accept, and the new guns are finished.
But, first, you receive the design documents for the new tank!

kahn1234, Centurion never had 160mm armor, it had 76mm front, 51mm sides, 32mm rear. Turret was thicker  200mm\112mm\90mm. Where did you got 160mm from?
And it had 650hp engine. And early modifications had 76mm gun.
And that's a tank developed in 1945 using all WW2 experience

So, Badger points:
+6 to boost to 63k/ph
+10 for fast-turning turret
+12 for offroad
+15 for a diesel engine

As well, I propose renaming the Gunship to the Alexi(Алекси)-class AA cruiser, and building a prototype now that we have a shipyard. Also, build 150 TP-1s and 25 LUP-40s

Resubmitting my fighter design:
Name: MX-1 Wolverine(MX-1 росомаха)
Workspace:10
Engineers:15
What it is: Fighter armed with the new tp-1 machine guns
Plane Type:Closed-Cockpit monoplane
Cruising speed: 370 K/PH
Max Speed: 483 K/PH
Designed operational altitude:25,000 ft
Armament: 3x TP-1 machine guns(one mounted in nose connected to an interrupter gear, two in the wings)

Name:NVG-100
Workspace:10
Engineers:4+1 metallurgist
What it is: modernized 100mm naval cannon

Name : A.A.S.C ( Anti Air Sharpnel Cannon. )
Number of Engineers : 10
Workspace : 10
What it is : A 6 barrel rotational anti air flak cannon, fires small shells that explode showering a huge area in sharpnel in the air designed to shred aircraft, also has variable elevation and so can be used to target ground based targets for self defense against enemy assault.

Name: Shore battery.
Number Of Engineers: 10
Workspace: 10
What It Is: A massive rotational stationary artillery cannon, the barrel is 4 meters in legth and 1/2 a meter in width and it fires 500 mm high explosive shells, solid shells, smoke shells or can be used to fire a huge cluster of smaller shells at a shorter range.
It is designed with accuracy and range in mind as a shore based anti ship battery capable of punching a hole in the side of any warship foolish enough to come within range or cluster shells to smash transport to pieces.

Name : A.A.S.C
Number of Engineers : 5
Workspace : 5
What it is : A huge 6 barrel rotational anti air flak cannon, fires small shells that explode showering a huge area in sharpnel in the air designed to shred aircraft, also has variable elevation and so can be used to target ground based targets for self defense against enemy assault.
