Does anyone else find it rather distasteful that this is getting so much attention while at the same time bombings in iraq killed at least three times as many people yesterday and no one gave a kink?

Yea a little.
Doesn't mean I care any less about what happened today, rather that more coverage should be given to these events over seas.

No. But seriously, I try my best to keep on top of bombings, and even I can't follow all of them in the middle east. I do not have the time. I do not get paid to be concerned about them, and following the people who die in the middle east, is a full time job. We would never hear anything but that.


Anyway, There are some depressing pictures out there, including a very young child and a woman with a gash across her face, starting from her lip. Those scars are terrible.

On the one hand, at least this will motivate the government to start treating domestic terrorists as seriously as foreign ones, which has been a long, long time in coming.

On the other...in true government fashion, I'm sure they're going to fucking trash civil liberties (even more) as they do.

Yes. Lots of people are freaking out about him. I'm cautiously putting it down to coincidence. I suspect he was just up there to watch the marathon, and is otherwise uninvolved.
