Long post is long
"You've said pretty clearly what you don't like in a scumhunt Shinigami-kun, could you tell us what you do like in a scumhunt, and how that could realistically work to find scum? you're currently asking for people to not use a whole lot of their scumhunting tools. what would you suggest that they be replaced with?"
Hmm, that's a tricky question. In the end, what I prefer the most is not what helps the group the most so I would have to say that everyone should do what floats their boat. So long as everyone feels comfortable with their methods then we will end up being an efficient unit.
I personally wish I could dissect the details of peoples play style but I'm just no good at that. (It comes back to the lazy thing
) I tend to look towards the vibes I get from people then I do an overview of their general performance. To this day, in any of may games, I have yet to have a really strong scum hunt so I am still learning.
If someone was to replace their original techniques I think playing from the perspective of a new player would work. With their regular knowledge of how to play mafia, combined with looking at the other players like a beginner, they may be able to see things they normally wouldn't even consider.
"Hmm, ok. Disregard OMGUS'ing. How will you differentiate a mistake from a mistake? Secondly, lazy does not correlate to blindly rushing into the fray. While you don't necessarily need plans in weeding out other people, you should know what and when to act. Is when a person wants you out of this school, a bad thing that you consider flawed: restating, when you get voted--do you consider that a flaw on the voter's part? Why?
"Tell me, how will you approach flaws if a townie makes a mistake?"
I don''t understand the difference from a mistake and a
mistake.I'm guessing you mean a towny making a mistake and an actual scumtell. I guess things just add up. If someone makes a bunch of scumtells then they are more likely scum. You can generally tell dumb town mistakes from scumtells anyway, right?
When I said blindly rushing into the fray, I was referring to the RVS period and how nobody knows anything. You don't know who to trust and it's a little uncomfortable
.
When someone votes me I feel like we are both making a mistake. I wish that they would read me better but ultimately it's my fault for not behaving in the expected way. This is assuming that they are voting for me because they think I am scum and it's not just a pressure vote.
Unless you have a cop role or your scum, you don't know who is town. So you keep pressuring them to try to get more out of them.
"...You're talking to Vector-well, her alterego in this current day. He's aggressive, snarky and still lovable that way. But wat.
You don't like Vector's playstyle because she's aggressive...err. What. Expound please? How is befriending a matter there?"
I was referring to how Griffy knew that I didn't like Vector's playstyle so by saying "fun not obligation" directed at Vector make him look both like he is a guy who wants to have fun playing the game and someone who is aiming to be others freind. Like he was trying to
not be scumy.
Also, my experience with Vector is that she has an irrationally aggressive playstyle that puts unnecessary pressure on people who have done nothing wrong. That is what upset me about her scumhunting style.
Vecooster - What are the top five largest mistakes made in mafia?
Griffionday - Do you consider being friendly a good thing, or a bad thing in a game of mafia?
Leafsnail - What unique things are you afraid of appearing in this quarter bastard game? What in these games make you the least excited?
Captain Ford - (I don't like your colour, sorry. It hurts my eyes and I have to highlight it to read it properly
) Should we expect you to act like you did in the great temple game? Could you explain your reasons for actions in a quick statement? I'm curious as to how you thought it would make you look any more like town.
Toaster - What are your thought on bandwagons? How about OMGUSing and chainsawing? Which of these is the scummiest?
Tiruin - I've never played a game with you but you have had some say or another in the BM's that I have played so far. What are your opinions of my play based off of what you have seen?
Dariush - What in this game are you excited for the most? The opposite of Leafsnail.
Zombie Urist - You seem to be the silent type. Are you going to keep posting at this frequency? If so, how much content do plan to put into your average post?
Phantom of the Library - Where do you see this game going? What style that is. Aggressive, silly, silent etc.
RangerCado - Who do you think is more important to pay attention to? The active or the non-active players? How do you read their comments differently, if you do?
Deathsword - Don't worry just yet. It's only the beginning of the first day and it's the weekend so I don't think anyone has viewed you as a lurker. But I feel your pain about all this reading. Your question i, after reading through all these pages, who has struck you as the most passive-aggressive person here.
Notquitethere - Are you a robot? According to ranger you are. If you are, then how would you devise a table to summarize playstyles? Nothing in depth. Just what king of categories and points would make it on said table.
Lenglon - You said before that I gave you too much credit for scumhunting. Could you elaborate? How so?
Solifuge - Are these pictures normal for you? Are you trying to use them to add a playful atmosphere to your scum hunts? Are you scum trying to make everyone enjoy your pictures and so they don't think as much of you?
Nerjin - If Ford starts acting like he did in great temple what kind of response will he receive? What if someone other than him behaves in the manor?
I would like to ask
everyone how many games have you played? How often were you successful as playing town? Scum? For those who have played a lot, just a estimate is fine of course.
I have played the last half of a game and lost as town and the first half a game, it has not finished yet but I have received a replacement.
