It shouldn't be too difficult to whip up a cauteriser. Just make a fire from some wooden furniture fragments, the stick a nice sheet of metal, there is probably something left over from the busted door, into it, ???, profit.

But personally I am in favour of letting it happen and becoming a plant monster...

Grizzly makes a good argument, but i still think amputation is an unnecessarily extreme measure. partly because the green isn't eating at us like it did the golem, but instead converting us. partly because we may have halted the progress of the conversion, and sleep could help us heal. partly because amputation could easily kill us. partly because the burns are healing. partly because normal human pus is a sickly green-yellow color, but plants don't have pus at all. partly because the green extends internally, so amputation wouldn't get it all, nor stop it from re-spreading from what is missed assuming it is unstoppable like grizzly appears to be assuming. and partly because basin is awesome, and i have faith in him.

i still say fall asleep... on basin

While I am still intent on keeping the plot out of our dreams, I am willing to entertain a communication with basin. And try to reanimate altar before we pop off, we need our altar...

Just noticed something

You think the burns look better.
Thought this said 'the burns looked better', but it doesn't. :I
I don't know what to think now.
((From what you can tell, the burned patch on your arm [i.e. the cauterized cut] looks smaller than it was before you pushed the green power into it, but given your current state of mind you can't be certain.))

We try and move we're apt to fall over & hurt ourselves more than just falling asleep. Flowers don't ring any bells. Arm in basin is grasping at straws just the same.
Either we amputate or we take our chances.

Well the cultists clearly had a choice between taking their chances on a weird summon or abandoning the path of enlightenment and begging for a chance of redemption, and they clearly made the right choice.

That's why we should make sure we're comfy!

I saw that edit!

and actually, that's a good idea. i'm thinking floor golem? it's strong and less likely to bring the building down on top of us than a ceiling or wall golem.

No, just throw some animation energy at the vines that killed the golem.

No, just throw some animation energy at the vines that killed the golem.
although this would be a good experiment (can we animate something that is already alive?) i think it's a bad choice for our last action before collapse. we don't know if it will work, fail, or backlash. and the reason the vines were so strong is they were growing into the golem. it's the growth process that is powerful, not the vines themselves. stone is harder than plants. any other time I'd be in favor of this, and i don't really mind it now, but i think the timing is off for experiments.
...
never mind, the flower has a remote chance of being special, and experimentation is calling, animate the plant that ate the golem floor, THEN fall asleep on Basin

EDIT: got my mind back from the experimentation siren.

Keeping vote in stone golem camp. Can pour all our animating power into it, and it'd be stronger than a vine critter.

Struggling to keep your eyes open, you call upon your power one last time, pouring it into the floor beside you, willing it to rise and guard you. The world fades out as you fall back, landing on something soft and warm, a faint rumbling echoing in your ears.

You wake.

Something is off, but you aren't sure what. Before you rises an imposing, airy arch. Beyond it you can see a colonnaded balcony well-lit by the orange-red glow of the midday sun. Advancing slowly, you step up to the carved stone railing of one of many alcoves along the walkway, gazing at the countryside. You don't know where you are (though you feel that such ignorance should be astonishing), but it is perched on a mountainside overlooking a broad, green valley dotted with farmsteads. Small groups of people pass back and forth behind you, all dressed in the same pale yellow robes that you wear, along with the occasional lone individual dressed differently. This all feels very familiar, despite the total lack of confining stone tunnels and murderous creatures.

A hesitant footstep breaks you from your reverie, an uncertain voice speaking up, "E-excuse me, but could you tell me where the chamber for the Contact Ritual is? I've only just been accepted as a novice this week, and I want to prepare for the acceptance ceremony. Oh! I-I'm sorry, my name is Stebios." The speaker is a rather plain boy, younger than yourself, narrow-chinned and high-browed. He nervously rubs a hand through his short brown hair.
