I want them to not release it until it is done, so I'm fine with this.

Anyone else going to do a spoiler-less run of this on release? It doesn't seem super tempting after the original's difficulty, but I don't want to ruin the experience.

Yeah, I'd prefer quality rather than a rush job as well.

Besides, it gives me time to actually finish the game, (Doesn't help that my save files were corrupted or something, and I had to start over.)

I do hope they make a better port or a dedicated PC version this time. It took a fair bit of tweaking by the community to get it working fine on the PC. It felt a bit silly that I could run Skyrim on max settings without significant loss of performance but dark souls was sluggish for a while until certain mods were released. And on top of that it also had compatibility issues with some versions of the popular cards.

EDIT: Oh, sweet. It seems they're actualy making the PC version first and using it as a base to downgrade it for console use, IE the sensible thing that nearly no japanese company does. Maybe it'll set an example and make japan stop fearing PC gaming so much. The fact dragon's dogma isn't comming out on PC is still pretty sad.

You mean, your characters kept going follow :D
PTW. Dark Souls is one of the best things I have ever played, and it has utterly ruined me as a gamer.

Use the resolution fix, turn on the savegame backup feature.

I am now, but the backup feature doesn't seem to work.

Which is disappointing, because I accidentally pissed off the undead merchant, and had to kill him. No firebombs for me until I get to the other merchant.

Are you familiar with the black-clothed guy in a bell tower? He shows up when you ring that bell, and lets you bribe the gods into forgiveness. This includes making NPC's friendly again.

There's like, totally a thread for discussing Dark Souls.

Yeah, but I'd already killed the merchant, so no dice.

Didn't know that's what that meant, though. I thought it was PVP-related, (As includes most of the things he sells.)

True, true. This just gets me over pining for a sequel. NG+ isn't really capturing my attention, too easy...

Not bad, but I'm still waiting for something as good as Bartholomew or All Saint's Day.

Is it true they're saying Dark Souls II is going to be even harder? I hope so. Ultra-hard AAA titles are a much welcomed change in the gaming industry. For too long have games become a sure thing, devaluing them. There need to be more games where you can invest your time and still lose. Real stakes make a game very fresh and engrossing, because you've got to give it your all.

I haven't heard "harder" mentioned any where. All I've read said is that they're shooting for the same level of difficulty. My guess is they will make a few usability concessions, maybe they'll try and have better tutorials or tips.

It's also the reason I've put 30 hours into DS and still haven't beaten my first playthrough.
