If Bay Forum were a Mountain Hall (Parallel Universe)
« on: April 08, 2013, 07:22:59 pm »

Yes, this is once again starting up, but this is going to be tangently related to the other threads.  Due to that, you do not need to read the other threads.  In fact, it is encouraged not to.  But if you want to follow the link below.

Second thread had a TVtropes link: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IfBayForumWereAMountainHall

This is going to be partially community fort, mostly roleplay.  However, you need to have migrated dwarf in the fort to be a part of the roleplay.  Currently, there are 18 in the initial, so the initial section is closed, but you can claim a migrant.

You are in.  What labors do you want enabled?  I've already embarked, because I ran out of points to assign to skills.  :-\

If I'm not in, make me a migrant. (Human, untrained, Hunter is fine if no untrained.)

I'll be a carpenter like I started to be.

I'd also like to be a militiadwarf so I can carry a crossbow about like I was.

Alright, let's continue with the story, lock the thread we just on, rename this one (Parallel universe). Since we were just getting started over there this can be mostly the same, won't take long to get back to where we were (but probably slightly saner - or at least insane in a different way).

Hm...just thought of something I was planning to have in the original RP. Zanzetkuken is going to be playing this, right?

Doomblade has the only crossbow, since hunting is the only skill he selected.

Thread locked.  Someone could modify the TV tropes page with a link there and here.

Of course.

To make things interesting, try picking a job that matches something you know in real life. Make sure to tell us what your real life skills are! If you want to do something you have no idea about, you could still RP it, but you'd be ham-fistedly learning from dabbling through sheer persistence alone.

I hope some of you are either frequent campers or have worked at a ren-faire. Still, learning fresh or adapting your IRL civilian skills to survive in DF makes for a fun RP as well :D In the original thread we were lucky to have a few people with bachelor housemaking skills (cooking, etc) and one professional engineer/chemist raised by a crazy survivalist Korean war vet.

It's not my fault if the only things I know is accounting, English, history, and other high-school advanced subjects, albeit at a high level. 'Sides. It's Dwarf Fortress. Hamfistedly experiment is the only way to make artifacts and become legendary.

Perhaps I should have pottery or a similar labor enabled as well. And Architect. I'm good at those/like them.
