To be fair, I grabbed that bit of lore from a D&D campaign I ran. It's one of the more fleshed out regions of my world.

I'm having some very interesting RL problems that are making it difficult for me to keep up with mafia right now. In one week most of that should get sorted out.

I'm pretty sure I've never encouraged anyone to join in on a Bastard Mod for their first game here, but I'd say you've earned a shot.
