Claims of mistreatment of refugees by the Australian Navy.

"In a statement, Mr Morrison says the Government will not comment on "operational" matters.""

Do I detect tendency there?

Yea, Morrison is the living avatar of 'Speak on evil'...
To continue my fascist nightmare, Minister for Education Pyne is saying that he is going to reform the curriculum due to 'left wing bias'. He mentioned "not recognising the legacy of Western civilization and not giving important events in Australia's history and culture the prominence they deserve, such as Anzac Day", despite the fact that I recall spending a lot of time studying the first landing and federation in school, as well as even more time looking at the ANZAC legacy. Heck the only thing that was really pro-union was the Eureka Rebellion... Unless he is referring to the history of indigenous rights and events such as the Freedom Ride and the Mabo Case, and if he tries to cut them there will be hell to pay.

Anyway, the history course isn't even my greatest worry. Over here the science curriculum is pretty damn good. Evolution and global warming are both taught as fact (In the context of a science classroom, that is to say nothing is unquestionable, but trust us on this stuff), and there is a strong focus on the concept of empiricism, the kind of stuff that produces left leaning young adults. I truly hope he doesn't think he can go all US republican on us and bend the school to his political will.

It will only be unbiased when it is right-biased.

At this point it just seems easier to declare that real life is left-biased.

Don't worry, the entire thread is just me ranting about the current fascist government. You aren't missing much.

Random fact: I just got my European Health Insurance Card, and the letter accompanying it says I'm insured in Australia too :v

Australia can into European Union?

If Greenland can into EU, I don't see why Australia can't. I think we would be a great European nation, we have a foreign queen and everything!

Alright, seriously, North African states were one thing, but if Australia joins you can't just keep calling yourself the European Union. It's fully inaccurate then.

But if you do, don't worry about New Zealand. America will...uh....look after it for you.

Well, from what I've read in this thread, I don't think it can with the current management. Honestly, it appears they're trying to turn Australia into a bad combination of the USA and a secluded tolitarian state.

Hey, those are UN treaties we are in violation of. We should totally be fine as far as the EU goes...

Come on MSH, Europe is not ever a real continent anyway, we can stretch it a bit.

Until...

Until the whole world will be European. Fear, fear the power of real bread and health insurance!
