I'll go ahead and update the forum rule listing thing.I fully agree with people verbally kicking around each other not being kosher in guild chat.

Yeah and as a note, if TNX is right he's in another guild, and if he takes this poorly they may start attacking people. So if you catch people from ChuDynasty I think it was harassing you or other guild members try to help em out. Just gotta ride em out, they'll give up fairly quick I'd imagine if they do it at all. Just remember dying does basically nothing.

1) Need to do TV to unlock my next level of second internal.

2) Tried to solo it. Killed two bosses. Can't solo the pvp event.

3) Went in with a pug. It was awful. Eventually made it to last boss and people left.

4) Can't solo final boss because it requires at least two people in order to remove the chains.

Consequently, I still need TV.

Tomorrow, maybe?

So Beggar and I did a TV run with 4 randoms. The whole thing was doomed to fail. One member had unwittingly hit the Normal TV limit and couldn't join us. Another member logged off on the beach and never returned. Massive arguments occured. The strongest member of the team went AFK to go to the bathroom, and then to fill his bowl so he could smoke some weed. During the firefighting sequence, another member quit. Then, more massive arguments. We ended up doing the first boss, and we had a lot of good loot. Stuff like annotation books, skill pages, and Goose Step. I believe we got a C rating on that boss. We had a lot of difficulty with the player assassains. I had to go after that point.

We've probably figured out the easiest way to get good loot, for now. The one remaining random also had VIP. He also had a pretty good amount of reputation. Additionally, Beggar was pretty low level. Because we made Beggar attack the boss first, we would get a ton of stuff, accoording to the last random. Turns out, he was right. I don't think that VIP matters all that much, compared to having lower level players. This also most likely applies to martial instances.

I can solo the first two bosses. Having done so, I can say with reasonable certainty that both difficulty and rewards scale to party. It's easier to solo those bosses than it is to kill them with a full party, and when I soloed two I received nothing but the same generic recipes and scholar/painter +4 to a lifeskill stuff that drops in family challenges.

Unsure about the value of Vip, but I suspect it's significant. Unsure whether party scaling is by internal level or reputation. I'm unconvinced about the rumor that chest loot is scaled to the reputation of the opener. It's a persistent rumor, but I haven't seen any reason to believe it that isn't also explained by the apparent party-wide scaling.

Agreed bout pugs that are doomed to fail. My previous post was originally pages of whining and complaining about sheer massive stupidity from people with far more experience in there than I have. Just one example...spending literally 2+ minutes "carefully coordinating" (among three people) the pull of a single mob away from its buddies only for people to use knockback abilities to push it back into the group, aggroing them and leading to a wipe.

In any case, there are still a couple points I'm unclear on, but with each massive pug failure I learn a bit more about the particulars of each fight and I think I'm to to the point where I understand most of what needs to be done. I propose a guild run.

Ahhahaha!!! Yes! We did TV, and I got stuff! That hasn't even happened before. Much yay-ness all around.

Also, I don't know if shily1 is a vip or simply has lots of reputation, but drops for that run were vastly better than previous runs I've done.

Guide to getting the six man array, apparently it is super useful for forbidden instances. Like, cut your time in half useful.

Okay question, (I can't set up a poll as I'm not the topic creator), we need to get this decided fairly soon.

Do we want to switch servers? I already know LordBucket would stay if we did so I'll count that as a no.

IF so what server do we want to go to? I've run a few characters on non blue dragon servers and I can say guilds switch hands with much more regularity then on blue dragon. Whether this means it'll be easier to break into, I don't know. Note that if we switch there will still be a logn wait but we actually might be able to hold land. We might in this server as well but it'll take a while.

And third as a simple service announcement, I'll probably not be continuing playing in guild. This is my second guild leadership in a sense, the first one being mabinogi, and mabinogi had a lot of help with that in the form of another B12er. On top of it mabinogi isn't terribly competitive, and it's quickly becoming apparent that I get stressed out over the tiniest things when I'm leading a guild, doubly so when it's PvP focused and it's starting to wear on me. I'd rather not get broken down over an MMO guild obviously. As far as I know, the vice Leader LordBucket should be able to do anything that I was able to do. You might remake the guild if you want to be safe. It honestly doesn't take too much bound liang, just a few spy runs, and that's the only requirement. Likewise, if LordBucket is interested in taking the reigns (or someone else), I'll give them forum admin rights so they can take over there. Sorry folks! I really do feel bad about dumping it on ya'll but it's better then me freaking out.

I will keep an eye on the thread and relay info about server switching to LordBucket if it's required. I honestly think LordBucket has a better head for this sort've thing then I do anyway.

Tough act to follow...two GM's leaving in a row.

I proposed that we play on the new server weeks ago. It's a little frustrating that people turned me down then, but want to move now, after we have a month invested here.

Either way, if the guild is going to be worth anything it's not going to be particularly a "bay12" guild. This isn't really a bay12 kind of game, bay12 guilds are notorious for falling apart in pretty much every game I've ever played, and there's just not enough interest here to generate a player base large enough to succeed in age of wushu.

Talking to Tnx now, sounds to me like he wants to go, but just doesn't want to be the bad guy who leaves. Seriyu, if you make me GM, I'll see what I can do...but honestly at some point it's just easier to let things go and move on. I apologize, but colorvision...you really had no business making a guild. You knew nothing about the game, you had made barely any progress on Blue Dragon, and you put us all at a serious disadvantage pitting us up against players with year old characters and guilds with over 300 members when there was a brand new, fresh server going live exactly when we started playing.

The way I see it, I'm the the most active player among us, I'm the highest level, I have the most "stuff" and so far as I can tell Tnx and are are the only two of us with social contacts outside the guild. I have the most to lose if "we" switch servers. It made a lot of sense to move when I first proposed it three weeks ago. Now? Not so much. But the rest of you don't have as much to lose. If you guys want to move...I understand why. Exactly the same reasons I had when I first proposed it.

Seriyu, if you want to promote me to GM, I'll accept...but honestly, I don't know if the situation is salvageable. And I'm not convinced that it will be better if we switch servers. Tnx just scouted them out, and there are guilds with 300+ members elsewhere too. Red Dragon appears to have craftsmen generally no higher than artisan, but personally I'm artisan across the board now and about 8 days from Illustrious. If we moved and started over, by the time I caught up to where I am now, I'm not sure the crafting situation would be all that different than if I spent that time continuing here on Blue Dragon. Especially since I'd have to do it without the benefit of all the "game going public" event rewards I picked up.

I propose everyone ask themselves what they want out of playing this game. Look st the present situation, look at your alternatives, and make the best decision you can for yourselves.

I've got no complaint with people moving on if that's what they want. It's not like you folks can't stay in contact outside of the guild, so really even that isn't an issue. When people decide let me know and I'll move you up to admin in the forums/lock things down. Also I can't really blame colorvision, if it wasn't for the guild I likely wouldn't have given this a shot to begin with.

On a more cheerful note, I've just discovered something rather interesting and borderline game-breaking:

You don't need to learn first or second internals to learn third

All you have to do is convince someone from your own school who has access to the vendor to buy them and give them to you. I just paid 75L for third internal level 1. There is a catch though: every level of third is unlocked by a separate script. Gaining access to level 1 does not allow you to train level 2. So, you'd need to either buy them all, or...since it's possible to unlock the vendor with Jianghu reputation rather than internal levels, it would be theoretically possible to buy level 1, which looking at it now gives stats roughly comparable to about first internal level 28 or so....then use it to grind instances to 70k rep. Twilight Village gives about 3k per clear. Green Cloud Castle (I'm told) gives about 10k per clear.

So theoretically you could skip first and second completely.
