Quote from: Jim to Lyra
I'm pretty sure it wasn't Xan. If Xan had suffered an amplifier overload, he would most likely have been the first casualty. Also, as far as I know he doesn't have a matter manipulation amp - only a microwave amp. However, I'm certain he's lying about who did it to protect them. Accidents happen all the time, Lyra. I should know better than anyone. Just look at Simus for proof.

In the end, I don't know if it matters who caused the manipulator overload. He never should have been in the middle of the fight in the first place. All of us share the blame for letting him be out there, and pointing fingers isn't going to make this have never happened.
...
Charles texted me, saying that Grate had died, and to ask Xan for the details. when I asked Xan, he said that Grate was killed by a rock, and blamed "a robot" for having a "manipulator overload". When I pressed him on which robot it was, he texted me that he didn't know because he couldn't read.

Do either of you have any objections to me killing him on sight, permanently? or do you have questions to ask the murderer before he dies?
I don't know whether you've heard, but that kid you were with is gone. Someone's, I think it may have been Stacy's, manipulator overloaded, and though they got it into the room where the amp specialist was hiding, he shielded himself and we got the short end of the stick, so to speak. Or maybe he tossed some of the chaos back at us, I don't know. All I know is the kid had a big piece of rock fall on him, we couldn't even see him afterwards. not going to say he's dead - like I said, we didn't see a body or any other indication, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

If it's any consolation, after it happened and the specialist came out of hiding unharmed, Jim obliterated him. Not even a body left to inspect, he's gone.
Feyri forwards the message from Simus to Lyra, and appends a note.

The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

Female Demoman (Tf2), went on mission 7. Didn't do much, other than the nuke.

"We need to tie the old man to a stick and wave it around in the hopes the Shadow Walker also decides to pop up."

Keep heading towards Flint's location to engage the UE in Mortal Kombat. In more detail, avoid friendly fire and get Paris out of the way in case he's wounded and I need a clear shot at the UE.

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

Continue heading to Flint's position. Attack the SW with a slash to the torso once I get there (with BT on).

((Yeah! Still alive!

Doesn't the monorazor give me a +1? Or has it stopped working like that ever since we abandoned the range system?))

Aaargh, that hurt. Asshole. At least I got back at him for it.

Keep talking, with the faint hope that he will surrender: "Final chance to surrender. My friends are almost here. I've never killed a man before. I implore you, don't make this be my first time. For both of our sakes."

Again, go for disarming, blinding and generally disabling strikes with the monoatomic razor, not killing.

The Urban executor moves to strike, but you move faster. You slip under is guard and, in a single smooth movement, sever his good hand and sweep the leg, sending him face first to the ground.

>Do not let him live. He has an Amp. You can't disarm him of that.

"Damn."

Slow down and try to get unlost.
I feel like you probably aren't going to get there in time to do anything at this point, but lets say you get unlost at least.

Keep running.

Once you all get to Flint, you find him standing in the middle of the hall, his foot planted squarely on the UE's back.

"Took ya long enough."

Have retroactively picked up the rifle, and standby for liftoff as needed.
Alright, rifle up picked and you're in the shuttle.

That has already landed, picked people up, and then headed back.

@Steve:"Are you sure? There's no other way? Can't I knock him out or put him in a sack or something and bring him to the Sword for interrogation? We might be able to interrogate him to confirm whether or not he's the last one, why they were sent here or if they managed to communicate what happened here to the UWM. You've got those... special two people on board. Can't they handle it?"

EDIT: How does he look like, anyway? I don't think we've ever gotten a description. Is he just a man dressed in that dull silver shade cloak and changeling mask?

If Steve confirms that there is no other way, say
"I'm sorry. I really wish you had surrendered. But you left me no choice." while slicing his head off, looking him straight into the eyes as I do so. Or his braincase, if he turns out to be a robot.

Else, if Steve says there's even the slightest chance I could somehow bring him back to the Sword to be processed, do that instead. Knock him out, drug him, put him in a bag, cut his eyes out, shield him with my own body from my bloodthirsty teammates, whatever it takes.

((Can't believe I not only survived that fight with no missing limbs, but I also managed to win.))
