An RT unit is a horse-like robotic frame. It's four-and-a-half feet high at the head, and three-something feet at the withers. Construction uses the same materials as regular prosthetic robot bodies. On the back behind the neck originates an additional pair of limbs, handless arms that are used to hold custom weapons. The unit is controlled with an organic brain situated in the chest, and two support CPUs - one in the "head" and one nested in an armored capsule behind the generator block in the rear torso. The unit is heavily armored from the front (heavily for infantry), with somewhat lesser protection from the top, sides, and back, and minimal protection from below.
The head of the RT unit houses two pairs of cyber-eyes (or eyes and cameyes), giving increased field of view, plus a micro-laser (a-la a hand laser), a kinetic amp on a hydraulic ramming piston, a three-prong mechanical clamp in the "mouth", and the nozzle of the medifoam dispenser the container for which is located under the throat armor sections. The shape of the head is elongated and tapering to a point towards the nose, to aid in projectile deflection.
The arms each hold a custom Laser Rifle, which both feed from the central generator bank in the unit's torso. When not in combat, or to appear less intimidating to civilians, the arms can fold up and conceal themselves under the flank armor panels. The armor panels themselves are mounted on powered hinges, are capable of closing when the arms are uncovered, and can lock in a horizontal position to provide a larger surface for carrying cargo or wounded.
Built into the thighs/haunches of each rear leg is a four-shot launcher for 40mm gyrojet grenades.
The unit possesses a long, fully prehensile mechanical tail that can be used as a weapon in close combat. Aiding this is a small bladed attachment on the tailtip, which can also be electrified using power from the main generator - delivering either lethal or stunning discharges as the situation demands. Mounted into the bladed attachment and firing through the spark gap formed by the blades is a micro-laser emitter, permitting the unit to use the tail as a 6DOF electrolaser turret.
The two additional CPUs serve a dual function. One is to allow the organic brain of the unit to cope with following and engaging several targets simultaneously, using the unit's large selection of individually targetable weapons. Another is to take over minimal control over the motor functions of the body when the organic brain is rendered inoperable - allowing the unit to act as a semi-stationary weapons platform capable of receiving targeting information from any nearby allies even when it would otherwise be rendered inactive.
The unit's legs house a set of small roller wheels, meant to simplify the movement of RT units by hand when in storage position or inactive.
Short version: horse-like with extra arms, armored, standard cybernetics, two laser rifles, two hand lasers, kinetic amp, medifoam dispenser, 40mm grenades, large generator for weapons, organic brain, two support CPUs. Maybe cameyes. Looks like
