You have some wealth that you can use if you so wish. What should it be used on? Or should you save it?

Ask our bodyguard if there is anything he needs. We really need to make sure this guy's loyalties are first to us and not our father. So treat him with the utmost respect and obey his every direction in combat training.

I don't think we can wrest his loyalty away from our father, nor is it useful to form a strong attachment to your bodyguards. Nevertheless we must treat him well.

This type of person would probably not be swayed easily with money or new flashy equipment. He is a person who been through countless battles and fought dangerous creatures this type of person is probably more swayed by people who actually put there selves at risk to help him. Like for example we for some reason get hurt knowing the king our bodyguard is probably going to get executed or beaten to death because of it. If we actually stand up for him and defend him from our father we will probably earn his loyalty that way. In other words we should probably become friendly with our half-brother Eric and try to find out when his birthday is. Maybe, we can gift him with a new weapon if it doesn't interfere with any customs.

How much is "fair"? enough to buy a rare book? A nice sword? A small House?

We did. it's all this stuff:
Quote
Trade goods.
Various stall based portside businesses.
Modest Middle Man business
I'm sure if there was another good thing (as far as our entrepreneurial gut tells us) to invest in, we would have.

One thing I don't see on the list of our allies is the fallen prince William. We should perhaps quietly befriend him.

It's enough to to commission and crew a small ship depending on how well you spend the money. So it could be used to buy all of the above and more besides.
