Hey all. It's been a while since one of these, so this one's a big one. I've been away for the last couple weeks due to some personal reasons, but I'm back now, and expect to see me around a lot for the rest of July and August.
As for my grand plans, there hasn't been too much progress on that front for the same reasons I haven't been on Steam/the server. However, that's going to change. Over the next few weeks expect updates to come, bringing with them a new gamemode, a Bay merge and an assortment of new features.
First off though, I'd like to start something for the future; a sort of monthly progress report if you will. Below is my estimated progress on all my various projects.
S-COM - 70% done ('Alpha' phase)
Infestation - 60% done
Galactic Crisis - 40% done
Shipbuilding/fighting module - 60% or so done (this will likely see use outside of GC too.
Ice Station - 25%
Construction mode/general construction updates - 30%
Defence mode - 50%
These are my current major projects, and I'd like to have them all done by the new year at the latest. Now, you're likely wondering when you'll see any of these things. I'm bad at sticking to specific days as you well know, but I can give you some, and I can give you a specific outline. The first infestation test will be either August 1st or 8th depending on my availability. I'd like to have it votable by August 15th, 22nd at the latest. GC won't be votable until the fall, but I'd like to have at least one test by the end of August. We'll definitely be having a test of the shipbuilding/fighting module by the end of August though, likely by the 22nd. The other stuff will be worked on throughout the fall and into December. The only thing that may not be live by the end of 2015 is the Ice Station, but we'll definitely have at least one test by then.
Quick summaries for things I haven't mentioned before I go eat:
Ice Station is a new station map that's in the design phase. It will be multi-z and feature trams, randomly generated terrain and z-levels, new jobs and some other fun stuff. It'll be released alongside a map voting system, and some of the features of Ice Station will be ported to Glloydstation in case people still want to play it.
Defense mode is inspired by invasion events I've run. It should be a fun short roundtype based on wave defence of the station.
