Peer creepily through the window like someone who should be on a register.  If noticed, abscond hastily to the left/up.
What this guy said.

Sorry for the long delay: should be back on track properly now. So I have a look at the window, and curiously, Bobbin just says it's closed.

So then I head up the cliff and there's an old man humming a tune:

The tune lights up on my distaff as:

Play GEEC and see if it puts the fire out, then play it the other way around.

We don't have G yet. Can you talk to the guy?

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Not to break the illusion, but shouldn't this be in the FGR subforum?

Trust me, if you put it there a dozen people will tell you to put it in Play with your Buddies instead, I've done this before.  You may as well just leave it here.

Bluerobin is correct and we don't know G yet. So I try to talk to the man.

It seems like, unlike later Lucasarts games, this one kept Loom's minimal interaction conversational model and people just give a few lines when you talk to them. In this case, I try to talk to the man, and Bobbin seem to disappear and the man isn't able to see us. Peculiar.

Is there anything else you'd like to interact with here or shall we head off? I think we can head back to town, or off to the right.

Dip staff in fire and sacrifice it like you're Jimi Hendrix at Monterey.  Given that he can't see you, steal the old man's glasses.  Then explore the island, with improved vision!

This looks... familiar somehow.
Totally Monkey Island 1. Never heard of Loom, though, I should find this somewhere, I love the adventures of that age.

I- I didn't want to do this, as there's no going back, but I suppose I could change the difficulty to...

LOOMCHILD

This was an unstable and highly experimental mode that was never released as it would be in contravention of the conventions established some years prior by the Adventure Games Council shortly before the Infocom schism of '89. But Ron Gilbert and Brian Moriarty were loose cannons in the heady days of the early 90's. By harnessing the hidden powers of their new SCUMM engine, they were able to allow dynamic text input. But the results were too powerful and not made for mortal eyes. But I believe that we have the moral integrity not to abuse the power of LOOMCHILD mode. I- I may come to regret this, but I am now accepting ALL INPUT...

> dip staff in fire:

Wh-what madness is this! How are we to play drafts now! As the staff crackles, it plays four final notes, though what they could be I could not say as now our distaff is destroyed.

> steal glasses:

Such villainy! What madness have I unlocked? Too late, I can only proceed...

> go right

For our convenience, I've highlighted all the options and overlayed them on one map.

Where to now friends?

This seems awesome, but I've got to ask...

Is this an actual game? If so, where? When? I have most of the old Lucas-arts games, but I never remember this title... Or is this just some fun with MSPaint?

Edit: I've played LOOM, but most of these screenshots seem to be from monkey island... Is this a indie-project? Google is resulting with nill(Except for LOOM)

Don't you recognise it?  It's the 1990 Lucas-Arts classic "Secret of Loom". You if you can, you should hunt down a copy (I'm not going to suggest you-know-what) and play it- it's top notch.

Well, since we already burned the first distaff, there's not much progress we make until we obtain replacement. Let's hope there already is one, even though fake Elaine hasn't told us to burn it yet. To the clearing!
