You are a newly hatched queen of a species of intelligent insectoid creatures. Your liege-lady has sent you off to distant unsettled lands to lay claim to the land and resources there, and to defend it against incursion by the forces of other tribes of queens. You were sent with 20 workers, 5 warriors, and 1 drone (who is under the thrall of your liege lady), as well as some basic impliments for farming and clearing land, and your warriors are armed with spears and clubs. In addition to these provisions you have 3 months of food.
When you arrive at the area you are to settle you are presented with three possibilities for settlement. The first has a river running through a flood plains, with sparse trees and some rocky outcroppings. The second is densely forested, with a small bog. The third is a plains, with few trees and a rocky badlands off to the north.
---Actions needed---
-Decide location of settlement.
-(Optional) Give yourself a name.
Bugs: 20 workers, 5 warriors
Equipment: Tools for 20, 5 spears, 5 cudgels
Other: 3 months food, various seeds
Train: 1 drone(under thrall of liege-lady)
Queens: At reaching the age of maturity they are generally 3 meters in height, and 12 meters in length. They have 14 limbs, eight of which are legs, and 6 serving as arms, the top two pairs ending in six digits, while the bottom two have large and powerful pincers. They have functional wings. Capable of psychically controlling all of the subspecies that are tied to her, whether birthed by her or gifted to her by another Queen. Can lay five eggs/day, which have a two month gestation period, except for Queens, which have a 1 year gestation period. Can choose which subspecies the egg will hatch. Limited genetic control over the produced 'children'. Very smart, very strong, with strong exoskeleton. Hermaphroditic. Perfectly independent. Powerful mandibles.
Workers: The basic bug you'll lay, standing about 1.5 meters in height, and about 4 meters long. Have 4 arms ending in hands, 4 legs. Good tunnelers. Moderately strong exoskeleton. No functional wings. Moderate intelligence, esp. when it comes to farming/building, but low independence. Unusually strong for their size, but still make poor soldiers. Poor binocular vision(still much better than a humans), but can detect movement very easily. Moderately strong mandibles.
Warriors: The main (and only) combat bug. Stands 2.25 meters in height, and are 5 in length. 4 arms, two with hands, and two with pincers, and four legs. Very tough exoskeleton, and primitive endoskeleton. No functional wings, and good binocular vision, able to detect light from UV to infrared. Very strong. All major organs have secondaries, with the heart, lungs, and brain having tertiaries. Low intelligence, almost entirely focused on combat, but with moderate independence. Powerful mandibles.
Drones: Used as diplomats, overseers and occasionally managers of important sites. Same height and length as workers. two arms, four legs. Functional wings. Very smart, and very independent, but cannot betray the Queen. Limited control over workers and warriors. Weak mandibles.
More or less early bronze age europe. Do with that what you will, feel free to attempt to railroad technology. Although the more advanced it gets the bigger the penalties will be fielded against it, unless you find a way to get more brain power working on it. Also, no jumps from rubbing stick together to atomic bombs. I forbid it.
So this is my first forum game, feel free to criticize it, provide me with some pointers, and general suggestions. Especially that last one, since the game will not advance without suggestions as to what's to happen. Expect dice to be rolled.
