Polish and common sense are contradictions.

Always in fashion though.

No... no, common sense is basically antithetical to fashion. They mutually annihilate on contact.

Really? Because everyone seems to think they have a corner on common sense.

Animal protection is full of that stuff, where bleeding hearts, who seem to never have seen an animal before in their life, come up with all kinds of laws which kind of force the owners of those animals to torture them.
The whole "organic food" thing once was about being closer to nature, treating animals, plants and consumers with respect, now we've got organic farmers who let parts of their life stock die of some easily cured disease, only because giving them the medicine they need would maybe disallow them from selling their meat as "organic". It's now harder for someone to treat his animals with respect and show that to his customers than not doing so and pretending to.
In the UK at least organic farmers are required to give their livestock medicine if it's necessary. It's the routine use of medicines as a preventative that is banned (excluding vaccines when in area of high risk). In the situation you describe why would the farmer not treat and sell his previously sick animals as non-organic meat instead of letting them die and getting no money? I'm not saying it hasn't happened, it just makes no sense to me. I'm not trying to defend organic farming either as even if it does have some merits there is a ton of nonsense mixed thoroughly.

I don't really know, it's just something I heard, but by someone who's in the industry. I guess you'd need to keep the medicated and non-medicated animals apart (if only for feeding), which would require additional space or at least quite a lot of additional work.

Is charging lines of gunmen sensible or common?

Sometimes to the first and yes to the second?

I'm just going to point out that while the "charging tanks with lances" thing is a myth, the Polish cavalry did engage German infantry quite successfully(sadly the lances had been retired in favor of antitank rifles), though the Germans brought up armoured cars and forced the Poles to retreat before they could finish the job.

The Poles had charged some German infantry to buy time for their own infantry to withdraw, before the cavalry withdrew themselves. After some German tanks showed up and decisively chased off the last poles, German and Italian photographers were brought forward and saw only dead cavalrymen and German tanks. Put two and two together, add a splash of Soviet justification for Polish invasion, German justification for Polish invasion and American enthusiasm for entertainment and you have charge of the light brigade 2: electric boogaloo

It sounds more like somebody complaining they can't keep the livestock neck deep in antibiotics and still call it organic to me.

We have them already. It's just that we either shoot them from a barrel or attach rockets to 'em. Instead of silly flesh horses, we propel our lances with fire and explosions.
