Napoleon was pretty darn close, though. I mean, if he had managed to defeat and vassalize Russia, the only real opponents left would be Britain and USA. He also had a really powerful ideology behind him, the French Revolution one.
No. America was no opponent. America bought Louisiana off Napoleon and was pretty happy with that outcome. America had no dog in that fight, but did war with Britain briefly.
I think I got misunderstood. When I said "real opponents", I meant "potential real opponents". USA could've potentially became an enemy of the France-Europe in the future, if it had managed to conquer Britain.

The US wasn't particularly populous in the 1810s and 1820s.  The costs of the Spanish occupation and the way that Russia would immediately renounce a treaty as soon as there wasn't a french army around were much more pressing concerns.

Aren't those the same thing?
Not quite, apparently, I've actually heard it translated as Corporal, which is more blatantly inaccurate, as it's not an NCO position.

1800's USA conquering Britain is a ridiculous concept.

He meant France conquering Britian. Which would still be a ridiculous thing given Brtitains naval strength.

Technically possible, though - with combined resources of Europe and Russia, a march into India becomes possible - and without India, Britain is significantly weaker.

Oh damn, we should've known better when we were conquering all the territories in Asia!

Oh wait.

Kazan and Sibir Khanates were the only serious obstruction to Russia's eastward expansion - further east, there was nothing except tribes (and occasional Chinese).

In the mid 1700s it would have been very possible indeed.

So apparently, Sweden is getting a shitstorm after its Foreign Minister criticized Saudi Arabia's human right record.

I must say, there is a disgraceful amount of silence on the part of the rest of Europe.

I'm still baffled as to why Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are considered to be "allies" to the West (mostly to USA, though...) when they've been supplying and giving place to hide for most of the terrorist organizations in the world, while the reasonable, strong, stable countries, like Iran, are considered as "enemies", even going as far as to pissing all over several attempts to establish friendly relationships (Axis of Evil bullshit comes to mind).
