Isn't this statement very unsound, gramatically speaking? It should be either "Venice still wants to be a city-state" or "Venice wants to be a city state again".

I don't actually know whether they wanted to be a city state again last year, and yeah I guess that sentence is a bit odd grammatically.

Three years ago, I visited Catalonia with my parents. Just to have a mere holiday on seashore in Europe. Pretty awesome. The point is - we went to the aquapark and had a nice time. Then, my father went for a mug of beer, though his English is not too classy. He came to the guy who sold it and asked with horrible russian accent for a beer. And the guy answered:
 - Вам поллитра или литр?
Just made me WTF that day.

I'm going to assume this is at least partly because, iirc, a certain Berlusconi neglected the upkeep of city of Venice so badly that the whole place is not even more in danger of just randomly collapsing into the gulf than it was before.
