We could form the National Socialist Democrats for American Prosperity.

Go NSDAP! Go NSDAP! Go NSDAP!

wait...
It was the abbreviation that got you? Not the, you know, National Socialist part?
Heil lue.

:) There are some variations you could put on the name:
  • National Sensible Democrats for American Prosperity
  • National Social(ist) Democrats for America Party
  • National Society of Democrats for American Prosperity
Honestly the best part would be if the party's abbreviation didn't attract any major media attention.

I'm also surprised I was able to come up with a suitable backronym so quickly. It's almost disturbing.
Because clearly, any party that lacks major media attention is sure to win. Also backronyming is not hard, I for one created DEEPER:

entirely of the top of my hat. And many others were made. The CDC was once "Commincable Disease Center", now being the "Center for Disease Control and prevention".
Nonaligned Social Democrats for American Progress
But making more types of democrats doesn't actually increase the net number of democrats in the country. They tried this in Weimar, and you can see how that turned out. Plus Americans like snappy names. "Democrats", "Republican" 3-3 syllable. Easy, obviously good. "Nationalist Socialist Party" "United Soviet Socialist Republics", 9, 12 syllables; clearly evil.

Nonaligned Social Democrats for American Progress
This wins.

And amazingly, nsdap.gov doesn't seem to exist.

Could we... actually do this?

We would be doing this a joke party, right guys? ...Guys?

misko27: clearly, we would be called the "non-aligneds"

People have been doing that for years. But if it means so much to you, you could drop the "genetic" and it would still fit.

Strap an invectve-filled sign to your pickup truck and drive around town screaming at people that God wants you to build a rollercoaster. At least, that's what Opal did.

It does not change the fact that lue is attempting to create not a Americancetric fascist party, as feared, but recreate the old Nazi Party. Kill him and his Acronym inspired fascists.

GOOD CHRIST NO It's just a socialist party people earlier decried the US not having. I just happened to find a suitable backronym for an unfortunate choice of acronym pretty quickly. Now it's a joke theoretical political party of the US.

Wrong. That percentage is people who buy their insurance individually, not those covered under workplace plans (the vast, vast majority of insured Americans). Individual plans tend to be nigh-useless bits of paper that are sold to the naive or the elderly by phone or door-to-door solicitors. Generally, they cover virtually nothing, and serve the sole purpose of scamming premiums. In other words, exactly the kind of policies that we are trying to get rid of.

To put in perspective, this is .5 to .75 of 14 million people. The American Population is 313 million. This only affects half of 4 percent of the population, assuming that the prediction is true.

So, 2% of the population lost or changed their health insurance when a huge health insurance overhaul came about.

Man I could've predicted that.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
