Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

First ask my Gravehaunt about how i summoned him and whether he knows how to summon another one like him. If that Fails:
Walk back to the Nature Mage ask him for something to help me banish the Ghost-Thingies or if he could at least teach me one spell to actually do something against the Ghosts

As they arrived at the mine, Roland approached Patrizio again.

"I thank you for the staff, Patrizio, but I must ask for one last favor. Even with it, I am more effective in melee than I am at range, and although I intend to use magic during the coming fight, should something go wrong, my arm may be needed more than magic. Alas, I fear that should the staff be brought to close combat, it may be shattered. I would immensely appreciate it if you could use some of the mine's iron to reinforce it, so as to ensure no... Unfortunate accidents happen during the fight."

"Very well. Its a rather unorthodox approach but we can try."

Imbue staff with iron, as per Roland's request. Treat it as practice in artificing.
Continue on to Norvak.

Roland smiled, his eyes showing a great deal of amusement.

"A lifetime spent killing has taught me that orthodox solutions only work until you meet someone competent, after which the only thing they can reliably be expected to do is to get you killed. To be unpredictable in our field is to strive, Patrizio... And I do not think any of the soldiers will anticipate fighting a wizard with enough backbone to hit back, should his spells run out. If things go bad and then turn worse, I will be prepared."

Follow Patrizio to Norvak. Practice blood magic along the way.

Roland does make a valid point, perhaps it would be wise to form a blade or point on the end of the staff to increase its combst efficacy and intimidation factor.

After all, who would honestly want to fight a man with an obviously magical jewel set into the blade of his halberd or spear?

The ex-mercenary shook his head upon hearing Flint's suggestion.

"Already thought about it. We don't have quality metal, and Patrizio is an earth mage, not a smith - no offense, friend, but crafting a blade goes well beyond putting metal in the required shape and then solidifying it. The staff would become too heavy to use correctly with all this iron, and it would be unbalanced as well. Besides, I don't want them to run - it's much more enjoyable if they think they have a chance."

Once again, he smiled as his eyes sparkled with amusement.

thats true enough i suppose, although you could always keep it light with a single thin spike above the jewel.

As for not wanting them to run... to each his own i guess, i personally prefer not having axes swung at my head.

Jim whistled a merry tune and set about raising more zombies while waiting for the others to arrive.
When the others start the attack, join in with my undead blocking me and Detani as I use my blood magic offensively.

One thing before we attack them, gentlemen..." Patrizio begun.

"Allow me to speak to them first, get some information on the kingdom and the situation at hand. The ones in quarantine need to be informed to wait, but I assume they won't start until we attack. While I talk, I want you to take our forces and encircle the soldiers. Once I finish talking, they will either leave or stay. If they stay, we attack."

Roland grunted in a way not all that dissimilar to Helfd, although he added a vaguely dismissive - perhaps even mocking - note to it.

"The Salamanders can run down any who flee. Spreading our force risks letting them spot us and get time to prepare. Besides, if you go in there and they realize there's foul play going on, they'll kill you in the blink of an eye, before you can get any spells off. The soldiers have been guarding the village for years and haven't left, so the odds of them sodding off now are mighty low. Any information they have will probably be outdated - unless the suppliers are intent on keeping the guards of Village Mc Middle of Nowhere informed on the matters of state and the military... Besides, they won't tell much in a casual discussion with a stranger. So why exactly do you want to talk to them? Sounds to me that it's a waste of time."

"What of the supply train once we slaughter them? How will we stop a spread of information that a band of undead is roaming the border?"

"Same way we did with Vis Valdi. The plague's everywhere, we can make it look like they got hit and were wiped out by it. Besides, you haven't explained to me how you planned to make them leave, so the point is somewhat moot anyway - I doubt there's any way of getting in other than storming the place."

"I think its wise to let other speak their mind, Roland before making a definite decision."

Patrizio looked at others. "Any ideas?"

we could wait until the majority of them are in the garrison eating or sleeping then strategically destroy the structural supports collapsing the building, then all we have to do is kill the survivors and make it look like the supports have failed due to natural wear and tear.
