Also, remember what the LAST Miniwarrens was? On what ORIC was going to do next. The winner[Or tied for winner] for action? GO AND CHECK ON CIRO. That's right, we could have prevented Kit-Kat's death by voting for something else. Or, at least, his death at the hands of Oric.

But Oric wasn't really coming to check on Ciro? He got blindsided by Riltia and Ciro happened to walk in on them.

It's possible Oric was looking for Ciro when he happened to run into Riltia.
