Again, my argument is that we need to go up in order to finish business on this level.
Well...you're kinda wrong.

Quote
I feel like the possibility of a miniboss/actual boss in the center chamber is pretty high, the Stone Dragon blocks one way to it and our lack of mana blocks the other. Even if we can get past the lack of mana for the other, we're still looking at possibly having a big battle on the other side of the door.
I seem to recall a certain thing called "Universal Plan B" we could always try...or UPC.
(Hint: Universal Plan B is diplomacy. Universal Plan B is running away.)

Quote
I still feel the risk/reward evaluation favors a spot of backtracking right now.
In case you haven't gathered, I'd like to explore our other options first.

I think a few of us were paying attention.
...and most of us had forgotten due to long hiatuses and such.

OH NO

NO NO NO

THE INDEX IS THERE, THE INFORMATION IS FREELY AVAILABLE

YOU CAN EVEN SEARCH THE THREAD FOR THE EXACT TERMS YOU'RE USING TOOK ME TWO MINUTES TO FIND IT

YOU DON'T GET TO PIN THIS ONE ON HIATUSES

IT IS READER LAZINESS

READER LAZINESS

Yeah, +1 checkpoint.
I never thought I'd disagree with GWG, but +1 to using the check point.
I will my hat my hat to the Checkpoint Wagon.

It looks like the shortcut to DL2 has changed name. Huh.

About the best a quick Google search turned up.

Eh.

Determine if any of the assorted liquids around the dungeon would work as adhesive.

Teleport to the Underside.

How about we heal before we go to the area that we're apparently going to love?

We have other business there anyways (SLOG), might as well view available mercs (not to replace goombess, just to know how often our choices change), check out that strange scarecrow again, combine scrolls, STORAGE (put away stolen Christmas + rug, and reagents; check skill tree; get pence and rubies). Can't think of much else to do there at the moment, but there's lots to do in very little time. Oh, yeah, and it's likely the strange voice that's been broadcasting to us will get a stronger signal there.

You teleport to the Underside. It looks exactly like you left it. Not surprising.

What will you do here? Many actions may be accepted for the next update or so.

While we're here, we might as well do everything we can here.

1. Head to the nearest SP fountain. Restore SP. Have Cherish heal everyone. Have her restore her SP.
2. Store reagents, rug, and scrolls.
3. Switch to Dwarven. See if the DL3 key works to open the DL2 Chest.

And that's probably enough for one update. Certainly one guy's suggestion for one update.

Check Al's house/mail

Al's mail box blew up! (See Volume 1, Issue 3: "Al's Story")

(Perception: 9+1) He finds a single piece of mail on the ground in front of his house. Who knew that Perception bonus would come in handy? The mail reads:

Howdy, neighbor~!

I haven't given up on ya'! Just because y'all act so grumpy down here doesn't mean we can't have a lil' fun. Why don't ya' come on down to my house for a FRIVOLOUS FROU FROU PARTY? Bring yer Mini Missus, too - she's a cutie, real catch!

~Your neighbor, Auntie

+1 to these.

Did we ever decide what to do toward reviving Slog?

General consensus is to do it.

Cherish: Be a bit disturbed if you ever see the note which refers to you as Al's "Mini-missus".
Al: Prevent the above from happening.

Knowing Cherish, she'd probably be more pleased than disturbed.

Well, yeah, doing it is obvious.  But how?
