Anyway, shouldn't we have learnt from the Cain theorycrafting thing about making decisions based on their 'colour'?
Yes, we've learnt that colours are one of the secret codes of meaning in the Warrens, but you have to be really cunning to figure them out.

Edit for not enough conspiracies.

He also wanted the red mushroom.
actually, he wanted a meal, and we just happened to have the mushroom on us.
He has waited for this mushroom for a very long time.
Emphasis this. Clearly, he really wanted this mushroom--or a mushroom much like it, at least.
And if we'd fed him a yellow mushroom or a blue mushroom or a luminescent green mushroom we'd have probably got the exact same thing just with slightly different wording and a slightly different picture, and now people would be going on about how yellow/blue/luminescent green was Slog's favourite colour.
There's also the red slime, and the red face you'll have when I point out that I'm not that serious.

There was also the fact that we initially assumed that only Siblings have Soul Stars. If we had realized sooner that all non-Illborn (and, possibly, non-Willborn) have Soul Stars, we might have put Al and Ill together sooner to get...um...four? This metaphor isn't very flexible.

[GreatWyrmGold] gets a little crown. May it forever be his mark of Cain; let no one argue pointless subjects with him lest they receive the same.

Idea to open locked chest: pour acid on the lock/on the side of the chest.

A sensible choice, just pour some on the lock. Not all of it, just a small bit. Acid: The greatest lockpick.

Actually, we were tricked by Cain. If we'd paid better attention, we'd have seen his color was Purple and not Green, which would have been the biggest clue that he wasn't the owner of the Illborn Exchange.

What kind of acid is it and what is the lock made of?
We don't know if this specific acid will melt this specific metal.

It's green, bubbly and mysterious. => Standard videogame acid.

Will eat away at everything that isn't plot protected, acid resistant or being actively used to contain it. Last may fail for dramatic and or comic effect.

Sadly, the chest probably is plot-protected, such that anything that destroys the chest will also destroy its contents. It's a standard safety feature on chests (especially RPG chests) to prevent people from just ignoring the need for a key. Crates are smashable for loot, chests not so much.

Not a downvote (we have basically infinite acid, so nothing to lose,) I'll just be really surprised if it works.

Or it's acid-resistant. Because if chests aren't loot-terminating upon destruction, they're indestructible.

We're not destroying the chest though, just the lock. It's akin to forcing it open with brute strength, really, just more cunning and will use up an item we have.

What if the whole thing has one HP bar and damage to the lock is equivalent to damage to the chest?

Alternatively, we could bloodshape a crowbar.

Ideas. GM.

Don't give either one to the other.

Hm, that's a good point actually. We have a lot of ideas on how to get that chest open though... Lets see, we've suggested shaping the key, shaping lockpicks, shaping a crowbar, shooting it, aciding the lock, just moving it aside... We could get Riltia to open it when we get her back though.

Dariush, that's half the fun though.

The chest's lock is magically connected to its contents. Destroy the lock and the chest will open. Inside will be a pile of ash.

There needs to be a :freeformschooler: emoticon. Also, no update today.
