I however, am saying feeding him a sword won't do anything.
His earlier transformation was because the item itself had a grow effect. Simple as that.

Honestly I don't believe it will do anything either. I just didn't want to rain on everyone's parade. :P

Uh, slimes aren't hideously acidic or anything, a sword would just float around in him.

Then he's extra inventory slots!

...Until you move him and the sword falls out?

...The helmet? The helmet should work. You guys were planning on giving it to him anyway. The helmet is made of impervium or something, so just make him eat it.
I don't think we should feed him the helmet, because Slog would look fabulous with a hat.

Anyone of the equivalent to the royal bloodline in a nomadic group would have a sun tattooed on their hand, or a scrotum on their forehead (it's a little-known fact that fraternities are based off of long-forgotten tribes).

That, and there's no way he'd digest it.

I have an idea. We need a spiky helmet, and a cannon. We can fire slimes out of cannons, right?

No, they'd just break apart.
We could probably fire spiky helmets out of cannons, though.

On the subject of transforming him, if enough people support it FFS will be more likely to make it happen.  He's not a malicious DM, so he should be willing to do something like that for Slog.  Could make it a class system maybe?  Up to him.  Root for Slog turning into a healslime people, the power of belief is what these games run on!  Or something like that, anyways.

I suspect that turning Slog into some other slime will be difficult. Let's look at the one time we have: We needed to use a semi-rare consumable (a Fire Shroom from a specific arena fight,  which wasn't gained automatically and needed time taken out of the fight to get IIRC) to temporarily turn Slog into a (powerful) type of slime. Assuming for the sake of argument that the power of the slime and the temporaryness of the transformation balance each other out, turning Slog into some other kind of slime permanently would probably require a somewhat rare and/or hard-to-get item as well.

Actually...I think it was a Mega-Shroom. As in, those ones that turn Mario into a massive stomping maniac? Those only give the ability for a certain amount of time. So there's a chance a sword could be permanent.

And besides, I'm sure FFS would pretty much let us do anything as long as it doesn't affect the plot TOO severely.

Man, I don't want him reclassed to shape-shifter! Blorble Specialist is exactly how he should be.

Come on guys! give Helmet Slog a chance before you try to butcher all that a slime stands for!

Eh, I bet even then he'd probably go with it if it had enough backing, or he thought it amusing enough. Fun thing about later-on-plots is that you can change them without it looking like a change happened, or more honestly that you just figure out a new way to connect it to what's currently going on with just changing up a few details.

I also just realized something. "He is NEVER dead when he reaches you". This implies that we will reach Cain ...

Or it implies that if we die we won't be able to reach Cain.
Hm, good point :P
Altough I half-expect that we could reach Cain somehow even when we're dead.
It still implies that we reached Cain before, tough. So the siblings don't lose memories between cycles, at least Cain doesn't.
Well, we've already been dead once, so if we reach Cain that's basically a given.
Also, just because we've reached him doesn't mean he's died. Given the way that regen station messed us up, and what Cain said about all of us being different so often, I think it's probably safe to assume that a cycle is a full reset, so we've probably either been sparing him or failing to kill him or whatever.
I wonder if Oric wants us to kill Cain and get him to recycle.

On the other hand, as a sword is much more common than the Mega-Shroom and permanent is obviously much more desirable than temporary, the resultant permanent buff would be MUCH less desireable than the King Slime one.
Also remember that the Shroom was a consumeable and swords are...not.

This is true, FFS wouldn't rain goodies on us from above, and if he did I'd be a little disappointed. Half the fun of getting places is the struggle it took.
