Now the. A Mark XXX Bolo vs. an Imperator-class Titan.
That, uh. That would... I'm not actually sure who would win, there. I don't quite know how on the ball a mark thirty bolo was, but more than a few of their later models... I mean, an Imperator is basically anti-continent, I guess, but the higher end Bolos were system defense units. They provided anti-ship and anti-unit defense for an entire bloody solar system. I'm only somewhat disbelieving that a (upper mark) Bolo could land itself on a forge world (though maybe not Mars, or something in the Terran system) and just law waste to the joint.
Bolos are freaking incredible. The real question, of course, is what happens when you have an Imperator-class Titan/Bolo gattai. Or any similar-scale mecha/Bolo combination. Because if there's anything a giant robot the size of a large building/small town needs it's hyper-advanced intelligence and the ability to swat space-faring warships out of orbit.
More realistically, I'd imagine the Bolo would join sides or somethin'. Now, if it ran into one of the non-human Titans of similar heft, there'd probably be a showdown.
E: And to Sirus's point, those hellbores, yeah. Combined with the ability to land a shot from a loooong ways away Not sure what sort of range or movement speed an Imperator has. Bolos were pretty frisky on the ground speed front.
Yeah, if we were talking realistically, the Bolo would land, see humans, not attack them, and then the techpriests would shit themselves worshipping it. That aside, a lot of the later Bolos were capable of
flight and
unaided orbital entry. So not only is it an unspeaking fucking massive tank with a main cannon equivalent to a warship's own primary armament, but it can
fly. Some of the later Bolos had
two Hellbore turrets. Let's see the Tau laugh at that.
