Prologue: Turn 1Preparations are Essential, Right Now!Objective: Secure Ganmen HangerTeam Beta, NortheastWell, since my squadmates agree, let's make it official that Team Beta is letting other people get shot first.
Lurk until the beastmen are distracted.
Wait for one of the squads to make a ruckus.
-Grave
Strongly suggest NOT to advance over the uncovered ground until one of the other squads has made contact. Once contact has been made, charge recklessly over the empty space to join battle.
Toaster frowns at the open plain. "Let's hang back a minute. Once the uglies are distracted, we move in. Not like we have a rifle among us, anyway..."
Grave nodds, hefting his halberd as he listens for the sounds of battle. Chewtoy idly tosses a bundle of C4 from hand to hand, eying the guard towers.
'Toaster' Tim Duncan, Rocklet Rifle
Grave Longdam, Halberd
Marcus 'Chewtoy' Phillips, Fire and Explosives
Team Delta, SouthwestMarxist pulls up his sniper scope and looks for any giveaway as to the enemy location, any traps etc. But don't shoot yet.
Stick with squad for now.
Stick with my squad and wait for a good moment to head in with them.
Trish continues to hide and watch the spotlight patterns to look for a good time to approach - but does NOT do so yet.
Marxist grunts, catching Trish's mood. "Well, Delta, looks like we have a clear shot... too clear. Hold on, let me check this."
... He quickly brings his scope to his eye, scanning their approach. He hisses as a passing spotlight catches one of the small boulders littering the ground. "Contacts. Two Beastmen, sitting in the shadow of that boulder. Looks like they're drinking. If we're careful, we might be able to sneak up on them while they're unaware of us."
Trish nods to Ryan. "Gotcha. When you're done scoping things out, think you can blow out their searchlights?"
... "I've been watching them, but damned if I can find a pattern to their sweeps. If you can turn out the lights, they won't be able to snipe us from the towers. Not accurately, anyway."
Trisha MacNeill, SCAR-H
'B.A' Darwin A. Sanchez, Sr, Brass Knuckles
Ryan 'Marxist' Wills, Sniper Rifle
Zachary 'Zenni' Johnson, Dual Knives
Team Alpha, NorthwestMove into the underbrush, aim for the spotlight guard, but don't shoot just yet.
((I agree with Toaster.))
Charles Sauk will crawl southeast through the underbrush to avoid notice!
(Two of the squads need to attack, draw the beastmen out, and withdraw. Once the beastmen give chase and the base is unguarded, the other two squads should sneak in, locate and hijack the ganmen, then attack the beastmen from behind. I'd rather do the latter, for obvious reasons.)
Advance cautiously. Find the heaviest cover I can.
Marco eyes Remy's drill consideringly. "Hmm... Remy, you good at digging with that drill of yours? Or is it just for show? Maybe we could dig underneath. I can help distract, and using the underbrush as cover, you and Deadman here can dig into there, take out the guard. That, or we make a stand here, make a ruckus loud enough to get the other teams into the camp, then smash them from behind."
... Nitro tests the ground cautiously, digging into the hard earth. "It could work, but not quickly. If we don't advance on time, we'll all get picked off piecemeal. I'll remember the idea if we run into a barrier, or need a foxhole." So saying, he sneaks into the underbrush with the rest of the team,
... easily making his way through the thickest bushes and tallest grass. Soon, he is concealed within spitting distance of the unsuspecting guards.
Slinger
... follows close behind, crawling to the other side of the bush Nitro is concealed in. As he leans up to take aim at the guard manning the spotlight, however, the ground suddenly gives way beneath his right hand! Slinger barely suppresses a grunt as his chin digs into the earth. His right hand plunges into something warm. Something fuzzy.
He looks down the dark burrow into the flashing yellow eyes of an enraged pigmole sow!
Thinking quickly, Slinger grabs and throws the rodent
... out of the bushes, rolling right up to the feet of a surprised Beastman. The pigmole squeals loudly,
... viciously biting his ankle! The goat-faced Beastman roars in pain. His companions jump up, startled, searching for the source of the disturbance!
... Hearing the shouts, Charles Sauk pops up out of the underbrush to see whether his allies are in danger! Unfortunately, this makes him a prime target for the alert guards- one sees him and opens fire with an assault rifle!
... Charles is riddled with bullets, falling backward in a fountain of blood!
... Crying out in shock, Deadman Dudman bursts from cover, running to his fallen compatriot!
... He bravely ducks a volley of rifle fire, skidding to a halt beside the mangled body of Charles Sauk. He doesn't bother to check for a pulse- there's nothing he can do for Charlie now, except take revenge!
'Slinger' Marco Kelarn, Dual Pistols
'Deadman' Scott Dudman, Shotgun
Remy 'Nitro' Maelle, Drill
Charles Sauk, Crowbar KIA
Team Charlie, SoutheastLooking at the camp, James carefully crept forward somewhat, being sure to stay out of sight of the guards and keep the squad spread out.
Suggest being the assault squad, after all, we have the BESTEST RANGE CLASS: ALL.
If people make contact, provide cover fire with my vulcan. If they move forward but don't make contact, CHARRRGE
Artu creeps forward while staying out of sight and wait until someone makes a distraction.
"Let's wait for them to get distracted," Blade whispered to his comrades, signaling them to find hiding places on the uneven terrain.
... He carefully crawled towards the Beastman camp, freezing whenever the spotlight came near. Soon he lay in a dry gully, one short sprint from the truck and the guards.
... Artu follows his lead, but while he is still caught in the open the sounds of gunfire break out from the other side of camp! He freezes as the guards perk up, listening to the sounds of combat.
... Seeing the Beastmen turn away from their post, Gale makes a mad dash across the open plain! He dodges and weaves past the roving searchlights, and pounds past the startled Blade! As the Beastmen turn to peer into the night, he opens fire with his Spiked Vulcan
... spraying the guards with bullets! The Beastmen fall without firing a shot, twitching as they bleed into the dirt!
Gale waves his comrades forward, taking stock of the situation. The guard towers to the South and East are directing their full attention to this new disturbance, bringing their spotlights (and their snipers) to bear. That will make things uncomfortable for Artu and Blade, but Gale is close enough to just run right into the camp, in amongst the tents. The truck appears to be empty, though the passenger side stands open.
'Gale' Nikolai Fuitera, Spiked Vulcan
'Blade' James Bellman, Sword
Artu Furar, Gunblade
To the
Southwest, Marxist notes that the drunken Beastmen are not yet aware of the clamor, though both guard towers are now focused on the other disturbances. To the
Northeast, most of the guards peel away, leaving one behind. Both guard towers are focused on the other disturbances.
A siren winds up, alerting the sleeping Beastmen to the attack!
